Good price, good pattern, I used this during a rainforest downpour and it held up.

Used this thing in the Panamá jungle. Pretty good quality, water repellent. Size is bigger than it seems, covered me very well. (6’4M) Tie downs come in handy. Installation is easy enough to do it at night and under night vision.

Performed better that expected I was doubting the material and how long it will last but after a three day camp trip that seen rain, I've considered getting another larger one. I used it mostly as a sub shade and it had pleasantly of tie off points. Had no trouble with advance hanging methods or tension tears. Used a 110lb Paracord to hang and secure and had no issues with wind damage or seam issues. However, the price is a factor, I personally expect to pay for better gear. However, I didn't expect it to look cheap but perform at or better than the product price point. I bought green elephant b tent poles and the weight of the rain fly wasn't an issue for the rather cheap tent poles. The Thermo protection isn't super high but given it's light weight design the amount temperature difference from one side to the other. Other standard tarps are thicker and may reflect more UV rays home their heavier and require more work to hang.. my advice don't use it for anything on the ground. Hang it out use that poles, don't expect the silver coating to be better than a space blanket.

There's no way to tell how this will hold up over the years but it appears well"made. The tie out points are reinforced fairly well. I like that there are a number of tie out points in the sides and center points. The colors are darker than they appear in the photos here. The underside is silvery. Not Mylar. I've never seen this sort of fabric. I have not had it in the rain yet. I will post again with an update after some rain experience. Overall it's a good value when you look at what the more reputable brands like Kelty and so forth are pricing tarps at. It's not the lightest material out there, for sure, but it seems light enough for anything but ultralight backpacking. The stakes are simple aluminum but they are rugged... not thin little skewers. I was also surprised that the included guy lines are actually good quality. I was planning on throwing those away but they will suffice nicely.UPDATE: Very waterproof. Water beads up on top surface....no dampness below. Just wish that a 12 foot width was available.UPDATE AUG 2010:. Love these tarps have four now...one has been up since January 2022 in snow climate two have been up all summer. Will they last five years like this? Probably not. Will they last ten years if you go on a few trips a year? For sure. The 10x13 also has tie-out points on two sides. In other words, if you hang the tarp on the ridge, and look at it from above, there's a tie-out point on the left side of the ridge and on the right side. Seams are well-sealed and do not leak.For $40, it's a fantastic value. I replace the stakes with extruded aluminum ones.... stronger. But the guy lines they give you are really good. I do wish they had a 12x12 but that means using fabric that's 6' wide....and that's not as inexpensive as using 5' goods.

Have two of these. One stay with the camping stuff one stays with the hammocks. They're very versatile and easy to setup quickly, the stakes could be better but work decent unless your in sand. One is used for a rain fly for an eno hammock it always stays dry and is perfect fit for one of the enos, these are 4 years old and have held up great, to being used for quick rain fly, shade cover, simple shelters, awnings pulled off roof rack. I have over the years updated the tie downs to nite eyes locking caribener for quicker set up and adjustment. Mine are green on one side and silver underneath. When used as a sun shade the temp difference is amazing under the tarp. When it does get rained on it dont leak and dries out very quickly. If you play with the fold up you cam get everything plus some paranoid in the pack sack it comes in.

This is a good low end tarp. Could use a few more tie outs. But a good tarp for sure. Description in the add. Very good price. Tarp is made of pretty good material.

This tarp worked perfect! Kept my set up totally dry in the rain and really cool in the blazing sun! My bags that were kept under this tarp felt insulated and cool when I opened them after being in the 85° direct sun, even after 3 days!

First, the positives.The fabric of this tarp feels very strong and sturdy, and I have no doubt it will last long.Second, the guy lines are nice and long. They come with plastic tensioners, so if knots intimidate you, you can use those.Third, it's affordable.But two things make me wish I'd kept shopping.The first is that the tarp really can't be stuffed into the stuff sack. If you fold it and roll it up nice and tight, as it arrived in the first place, it fits pretty easily. But a tarp should be able to be stuffed into the bag, and this one seems to get bigger when you try to stuff it in. I have only managed to stuff about two thirds in before giving up and folding and rolling it up.But the main issue is the tie-out points. There are no tie-out points in the middle of the tarp. Some tarp configurations really require you to have guy lines coming off the roof or middle of the tarp, but you can't do that with this one. The frustrating thing is that the main picture here on Amazon sure makes it *look* like there are tie out points running down the center of the tarp, but they are not there. That's pretty frustrating.The tarp is still usable, but I will look for another one for my main tarp and just keep this one as a backup.

This is an excellent canopy/shelter. Light weight and very well built. Every corner has reenforced stitching and a tan. Each tab is over stitched which is rare these days. Simple to use. Comes with tie downs and pegs, even the pegs have a point of the for easy use. I used it as an improvised shelter. I just ran a ridge line between two trees and it was that easy. After sweating it up I realized I didn’t have to set up a ridge line, there are two tabs on the center line that can be attached to the trees. Very well thought out product. Thai one is a little bit too big for what I was looking for but the kids will use it over their hammocks for sure.

Overall an amazing tarp, I almost didn’t pick this up before going on a canoe trip in Algonquin park.It rained hard the second night and it held up amazingly (thunderstorm). I had this over a Hubba Hubba 3 LT tent and it covered 95% of it and allowed us to create an overhang area for our chairs and food barrel while the storm raged on.It includes additional ropes for staking in the ground/trees plus stakes.The only major gripe I had was the middle section doesn’t have a place to feed the rope into - zoom in on the first picture and you can see. I debated taking an extra star off for that reason but it is such a nice tarp kit otherwise for a decent price.
