how do you change from C to F?

The factory default is Fahrenheit, so I did not need to change anything. But these instructions are from the booklet itself but I tried it to be sure it works and it does..... Long press the SET button, press the MODE or MEMO button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, then press the SET button to confirm the setting.

Is the reading accurate? does it need calibration? also can you use this on yourself? works on adults and children i assume?

Yes, the reading is accurate, it does not need calibration. I use it on myself all the time, as it works on adults and children. I really like it.
