Excellent book, well worth it! . . Mother was delighted with it, her family are from Donegal and photos brought back lots of lovely memories

I've bought thjis book for my father, a Donegal man through and through! Yet I spent many of my childhood years in this area on holidays and was very pleasantly surprised at how the photos whisked me back to a bygone era. An excellent pictorial history of life as it once was.

bought as a gift for my mum. she liked it as it showed examples of what the towns used to look like in donegal. someone into history might want a book with more photos / details. for general interest its fine

Whole family - who know Donegal very well - love this book. It gives amazing insight across the spectrum and is very much focused on people and the lives they led, rather than simply Donegal's natural beauty. Well captioned and fascinating. Totally recommended!

I am not sure what constraints were in place in compiling this collection but I have many old prints which are better and more interesting than this. If you do not have any other material this will get you started but is is not geographically inclusive or even representative of what is available.

My father was from Donegal in 1950 and loves this book. I took a chance on it as a present but turns out he recognises the people and places within the book.

As I am from Donegal, I must say I have enjoyed this book, recognising towns and villages as they were in the past.It sits on my coffee table and visitors enjoy the picks and it is a good conversation piece.ThanksPatrick O'Kane
