Hi I’m thinking of using this as a kitchen and recycling bin. Would it work with the compartments being so small?

That is what I bought mine for and to be honest it is a little small. The section I use for cardboard and plastic usually ends up with the lid up and everything poking out the top. I am still happy with my bins though so if you are prepared to empty it more often, this is a good choice.

I am by the coast will this rust. I cant tell if the grey version is plastic.

Metal body with plastic lids. I am on the coast also, it’s an indoor bin so it shouldn’t make any difference

Is each compartment 24l, or is that the total capacity?

That’s the total capacity, 3 x 8L

What bin bags would you need to buy for this?

I use small pedal bin liners approx 35 litre capacity with tie handles.
