Fast, Compact, and No Dang Adapters—What’s Not to Love?
This little beast surprised me—in a good way. I use it mostly to transfer ROMs to my Anbernic handheld game console and photos from my still cam. For a reader that pushes these kinds of speeds, it’s shockingly compact. I’ve seen other "high-speed" card readers that look like they were designed to double as doorstops. Not this one. It fits in the palm of my hand and doesn’t make my backpack feel like I’m hauling bricks.Transfer speed? Ridiculously good. Like, “wait, that’s it?” levels of fast. I’ve moved gigabytes of footage and project files in what feels like seconds. And unlike my last reader, I didn’t have to go hunting for a micro SD adapter or some cursed dongle from the drawer of lost tech. USB-C plug, smooth sailing.Dislikes? Honestly, none for me. It does exactly what I bought it for and at a price that didn’t make me question my life choices. Some people might grumble about the cable length—yeah, it’s short—but for me, it's actually the perfect size. Long enough to reach, short enough not to tangle with everything else on my desk.Bottom line: If you need high-speed, plug-and-play reader in a pocket-sized package that won’t empty your wallet, this is the one to get. Just don’t lend it to a friend unless you never want to see it again.

Good Reader
Extremely happy with this card reader. It is fast for my needs (I may download up to 3000 photos at a time) and is sturdy. I have not noticed any issues with severe heat. I use this with my Mac Book Pro. I've had the reader for over a month now and have used it quite a bit for what I consider larger jobs in the past month.

Fast Card Reader for UHS-II Cards
Compatible with my Google Pixel 7 Pro and Apple iPad Mini A17 Pro, on top of the usual Windows/Mac machines. Having the capability to read UHS-II cards at the UHS-II rated speeds makes previewing RAW files a breeze. Its compact size and low profile allows it to fit in my small 7l sling bag without adding bulk or bulge to the pack out.

So much faster than my Anker USB 3.0 reader.
This guy will max out with a V90 card around the 220-240 MB/s mark which is a significant jump for the Anker's 80 MP/s cap. That's three times the speed for only a few dollars more. Also love that Lexar made this reader have a pigtail instead of a straight connector. This helps to free up space on laptops or desktops with cramped IO ports.

Get the one that also has an SD card slot, but not for that reason
I already had the Lexar dual-slot version (CFexpress Type B / SD) and it works great every time with my MacBook Pro and Lexar CFexpress Type B cards. I don't use the SD reader because the MacBook has an SD reader built in. I wanted a second CFexpress Type B card reader so I ordered this single-slot version. I used it a few times but never really put it through the paces since the other works so well.I decided to start using this reader instead arbitrarily. I have found that the power light on the reader only turns on the first time I connect it to the Mac after rebooting, and only in the 1st left USB-C slot. Putting a Lexar CFexpress Type B card in the reader, the Mac recognizes the drive and I can start to transfer files.Less than halfway through a transfer the drive disappears and from that point on the reader won't work with any of the Mac's USB-C slots or with any of my Lexar CFexpress Type B cards or any USB-C cable. If at any point I swap back in the dual card reader, we're back in business. Not sure why this one is so flaky. Ironically it has a 5 year warranty in the US where as the dual-slot version is only 2 years. So reaching out to them to see if they can help since can't return here now.If you have a Mac and Lexar CFexpress Type B cards I would suggest the dual-slot version of the drive over this. I may have got a bad copy, but seems like I'm not the only one experiencing this phenomenon with this reader.
