I have had three of these coffee cups over many years. The first one, I actually used until all the color was gone, the second one, my son lost, and this is the third one. They do not leak; when I was a student, I could put the cup full in my backpack and know that the coffee would not come out. I find them easy to open and to drink out of and they keep the drink reasonably hot. The most important thing for me, as a nurse, is that I can wash the top easily and clean out all the stuff that accumulates and can grow under tops of travel mugs (so many of them are complex to clean or impossible which “freaks” me out:) I don’t put it in the dishwasher because I don’t think the finished would hold up to that overtime. Obviously, your coffee or drink has to be hot when you put it in there because it is not microwavable.😏. Highly recommended!

My favorite drink cup. I really like this model. You can be in a recline position and still use it. It also keeps liquids hot or cold. I’ve left it over night and there is still ice in it in the morning. And coffee stays hot all the to the last drop.

I have purchased contigo west loop mugs for years. About 7 so far, I had one leak, and I had to throw it out, then I found out you could return them. And the second one I put some cleaner in it, and it exploded and fell off the counter. I returned that and they gave me another one. So i'm happy with them

This is my fourth Contigo mug, which should say a lot. The first one was great, but was too big for my coffee maker. The second one got left behind on vacation. The third suffered un unfortunate interaction with a microwave, which someone who didn't know better. The store where I used to buy them no longer has them, so I bought another brand; but it wasn't genuinely spill-proof, like this Contigo. So to Amazon I went looking for my longtime favorite. Things I like: * It really is spill proof. * The design allows it to be used one-handed, with either hand. No handle means it doesn't have to face a particular direction. * It fits well in my average size hand. * It keeps my coffee hot much longer than any other mug I've used. * It's a good size for most single serving coffee makers, while holding a good amount. * The lock function works well. (My daughter also has one and it served her very well when she had small children who figured out how to use the button but didn't notice the lock.) possible negatives: * The button to open the sipper requires a little strength. It could be hard with very weak hands. I have weak, but not very weak, hands and I rarely have a problem. * It might be hard for smaller hands to operate. * The lid is a pain to clean. I've tried various scrubbers, but they can't get everywhere. The best solution I've found is bleach water. It loosens the coffee stuck to the plastic inside the spring mechanism, and then a few good shakes will get it all out. A nice thing about bleach water is that your nose will tell you accurately if you've rinsed it all out. I've tried other cleaners that were much harder to wash out. (Learn from my mistake: do not try oxy powder!)

This keeps my coffee hot and my iced coffee cold. It's a beautiful purple and fits nicely in my purse without spilling. Grip is perfectly fine. No slippery feel. I just wish the bottom had a material to prevent the light "clank" sound when I set it down on the counter. Minor subjective issue. I know the instructions on closing say otherwise but I can screw on the lid just fine and it'll be tight and secure. The lock button works. The release button to allow you to sip/drink works. Another subjective issue, but one that isn't so minor in my books, and it's why I took away one star, is that I've realized that I do not like the mouth piece where I drink from. This particular design results in a tiny bit of liquid sitting in the cranny of the mouthpiece after I sip and release. It irks me a bit because I tend to find smth clean to soak up that bit of liquid. Not the end of the world. I'll be using this often anyway.

Love the color of this cup... the exterior seems more durable than other colored Contigos we've had in the past. However, this one - and another we bought at the same time in stainless steel - leaks. I'm disappointed because I've been a loyal Contigo buyer for about ten years; they stand up to several years of dishwashing typically, and the retain both hot and cold for very long periods of time (better than the one Yeti I've purchased, and for usually a much lower price). This particular cup seems to have a flaw, and unfortunately I'm just outside of my return window, so between the two cups, it's about $50 or $60 completely wasted. The other stainless steel version we got, actually is so badly flawed that it literally sprays hot beverages out the top (something I discovered after our temperatures here finally got lower - and thankfully by simply testing it, or else my son might have gotten burned!). I haven't attempted hot with my purple cup yet, but will need to test that. I'm bummed because it fits my bike's cupholder perfectly and not all cups do. And while it works fine for that angle, if I put it in the side bottle holder on my purse and set the purse on my lap, it leaks all over my clothes in mere seconds. If a kid were to lay it flat on a car seat with hot chocolate or soda in it, it would be everywhere. Very disappointed! I'm hoping Contigo will see this and offer me replacements because both the cups I got are going to be unusable for hot drinks in particular, and these are a fairly big investment in terms of cost each.

We love the Contigo mugs! Have used them for years. They keep hot liquids hot, never leak, and the one-handed action to unseal and drink is perfect when driving. My husband lost his favourite orange mug several years ago (there’s a family connection to that colour) so when we saw it, we bought it, despite the rather high price. He is happy.

Keeps hot stuff hot for a very long time. atleast 6 hours. Typically in other mugs I have noticed cold remain for longer but heat is generally lost fast, but this is much better. Also its very thin and fairly lightweight and doesn't feel like a thermos I am carrying around, makes it very handy for daily use. Lid is also easy to clean as it has a different system allowing u to get in and properly clean it. A bit expensive but then has been good to use.
