We went from 24/7 sucking to practically done within DAYS and a lot of grins from our kid that was so proud. Background: Our 4-year-old was the most determined thumb-sucker since birth and did it day and night. We waited and waited, doctor said not to worry until 4 since most kids stopped by then, but he was still doing it day and night well past his 4th birthday and had already developed a visible cross-bite. We probably should have started something a year ago, but so many of the other methods felt cruel or punitive. I'm not afraid of some tough-love where necessary, but I prefer gentle parenting when it's an option and it felt like it was especially important to be gentle with something that was such a source of comfort. Using the Product: We were able to make this a super positive experience that actually made him excited to wear it, which was amazing. He wasn't totally on board with why we needed to do it, but once we were able to make it fun he was all on board.
