I use this headphone amp plug with my bass guitar and in ear headphones, or over ear headphones. It's very practical for practice sessions when you don't want to plug into an amp. The app allows for fine tuning of gain, level bass, middle treble and mid frequencies (see last photo). The app has a metronome, and 10 different drum beats: pop, metal, blues, swing, rock, ballad rock, funk, R&B, Latin, and dance. Switch up the BPM the way you want. You can hear the drums and metronome through the headphones, but not the backing jam tracks. I'm not sure if that is intentional, but if I use the backing track I remove one of my earbuds as it can be heard through the phone's speaker. All in all this NUX system has been working quite well and the battery life of this amp is great. The % of battery is displayed on the app 'edit' page (last photo). Be careful not to blow out your eardrums- this thing amplifies quite well. No distortion noted... but then again I'm using this for quiet practice, and not rocking out so your mileage may vary. :) *** Edited on March 14,2022** I've added 2 more photos to show connectivity of the product and specific write up regarding the Bluetooth feature of the NUX . Since there have been many questions regarding connectivity, here is the paragraph from the booklet regarding Bluetooth: " You can connect your mobile phone or tablet by Bluetooth to play along with your favorite music either AUDIO or APP mode is selected. Go to your phone/tablet Bluetooth settings and search for MIGHTY PLUG to connect. When the Bluetooth is connected the device is ready for audio streaming only. If you want to control the effects, open the MIGHTY AMP application on your mobile device, go to SETTINGS> CURRENT AMP AND CHOOSE the MIGHTY PLUG device. AUDIO/APP LED indicators will show you the current status. Now you can customize and store your own presets."

I was looking for a small multi-effects unit to travel with. This thing is awesome for practicing while you travel! It sounds great in headphones, but I also had good results plugging it into aux ports of car stereos and bluetooth speakers. I imagine you would have pretty decent sound if you plugged into a PA system too. Settings are easily tweaked on the 4 different channels (via the app), and the button to toggle between channels is at you guitar's jack, so it's not like having a peddle board, but you can still switch between channels somewhat easily. I cannot believe the variety of effects in such a small device, and such a low price! The only way to adjust sound is through the app, so that is a downside, but I just set it where I like it and only have to change it if I plug into a different device. Each channel can be set to a different volume level. Usually if I am moving from headphones to another device, that device has its' own volume control anyway, so no big deal. Highly recommend for anyone that needs portable tones, or even for any beginner on a budget. I wish I could have had so many tones for that price when I first started! Update after 6 months of use. I just noticed someone posted a negative review of this product and wished they had held on to some device they had from the 80s. Their main complaint was a lack of knobs and no volume control. I will admit that a physical knob or two, especially volume would be nice. The thing is, everything is adjustable in the app, sounds like this person did not realize that. I started playing in the 1980's and just 1 effects pedal would have cost about the same as the nux, and that would not be multi-effects, and no amp either. After 6 months I still love this thing! I just found out there is a 3rd party app called Mightier that can be used to tweak the different channels even further. I found that the volume varies if I am changing from BT speaker to headphones, so having to adjust volume on each channel if jumping between devices is a little irritating. Best to set everything to acceptable volume on headphones first, then just use BT speaker volume to adjust. Still super excited about this product and not sure how anyone could not like it, especially at this price.

7/25/22 UPDATE: DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE!!!!!! I hadn't used the device for a few weeks (no time to practice) and the app reminded me to update the firmware, so I did it on 7/22. Instead of it improving the device, it rendered it unusable. There was noise present that wasn't there on the prior firmware. It can only be described as a high pitch, dog whistle frequency that dominates the signal. The noise gate is useless and it affects every preset. I was desperate to locate the firmware to roll back to the prior version. It took me 2 days to locate it via a Nux facebook group. An hour later after needing to convert .rar files and extract them, I was able to use the update tool to rollback to the order firmware. I know it worked because a) the app told me it was out of date and b) the high pitch whistle was gone. Now, I can use my device and I could care less about "new features". So, do not ever upgrade the firmware as there are numerous complaints. I have retained the old firmware files in case I have to repeat this process again. I had both the Mustang Micro and the Mighty Plug 2. I got the Micro first because I believed the reviews and I hated it. It never sounded good in any of the headsets I had, from studio headphones to Skullcandy earbuds. The Micro seems to have a persistent hiss at times and odd volume drops when streaming music to play to. No matter what I tried to equalize the guitar volume to blend with the music, the guitar was either far louder than what I was playing to or the opposite, too quiet to hear. I also hated the limited presets. The effects only have 5 adjustments. Nothing sounded good. The amp EQ only has 5 adjustments. Nothing sounded good, either. With the issues I was having with volume and headsets, I found the Micro fatigued my ears. I never got a usuable sound nor could play through it for more than 40 minutes. I sent that shit back for a refund. I received the NUX Mighty Plug 2 last week. It's built a bit lighter than the Micro, but the app is what makes a world of difference. There are some amps and effects that limited adjustments, however the rest of them do which allows you to dial it in better. Only takes a minute to cycle through your settings and add in reverb, delay or whatever suits you to find a useable tone. I love that it has a noisegate. Total lifesaver! Plus the NUX has built in backing tracks, simple but usable drum bank, EQ for bluetooth audio in, EQ for USB recording out and other useful features. I have not streamed videos yet (latency), however I have streamed music and there's no signal loss like I experienced with the Micro. It works flawlessly and a tweak here and there to tune your sound on the fly is quicker than you think. It's intuitive. The power button doubles as a mute button for the device. You'll find that a couple of hours have passed jamming away on this thing. For me, the Micro is overpriced at $99 given it's extensive lack of features. The NUX is only $69, has been around a year before the Micro, works and sounds better. I find the hype around the Micro to be overblown after my experience with it. I tend to be happier with under the radar products. The NUX may not have the same brand power as Fender, but these types of devices are way ahead of their competitors at a ridiculously affordable price. Try them out side by side yourself. Trust your ears and user friendliness. For me, the NUX is the better choice.

I use it every time I practice! Living in an upstairs apartment and being able to practice without bothering the neighbors is important. This system is 100 time easier than having 18 feet of guitar cable then another 6 feet of headphone cord plugged into your big amp! Try playing anything without getting tangled in cables! With the Nu-X I can simply plug that into my bass with my headphones plugged into that, I tuck the few extra feet of headphone cord in my back pocket. Then I’m able to practice without even disturbing my roommate in the other room! Game changer! Plus I’m no longer tied to my amp and I’m able to move around my room while playing which helps me get into the grove ha As a bonus it works with all my instruments! I have an acoustic electric ukulele, acoustic electric guitar, and a bass guitar. But my favorite feature is the interface via usb which allows you to record to a computer with just the Nu-X plugged in! No need for a fancy expensive audio interface to start recording songs! The audio quality is pretty good too. I’m not a professional by any means but the recorded audio sounds the same as it does coming straight from the instrument directly. I only wish I’d found this sooner...

I wanted this portable guitar headphone amp to sound at least okay - I had set my expectations for okay. I had previously shopped a competitors product in the $99 range. I plugged the NUX portable headphone guitar amp into my bluetooth phones (via its audio "cable" port) and into my PRS SE Santana Egyptian gold guitar. Wow! The audio quality is incredible. Lots of different effects to choose from, as well as amp models. There is an IR section that I would have missed, if not for "The Pedal Guy's" excellent video on Youtube about this device -- think acoustic guitar simulator - yeah, this thing has that awesome feature. There are backing tracks that I still have to explore, as well as drum tracks included with this device. One tip would be if your bridge pickup is really hot, like in my PRS SE, you might want to switch your pickup selection to your neck pickup. The NUX Mighty Plug MP-2 sounded great with my guitar's stock/passive neck pickup but it (right out of the gate) didn't do so well (the distortion wasn't as natural sounding) with the aftermarket "hot" passive pickup in my guitar's bridge. I always wanted to try a Univibe type effect and it is included with this portable guitar headphone amp. If you are shopping a few of these type of devices, check out the Reddit reviews and Youtube videos as well. If you purchase this portable guitar headphone amp, please set some time aside, I spent about an hour and a half the first time I plugged into this device - it is tremendous in the simplicity of its use and I love that there is so much more to learn about the features I haven't fully discovered yet. At the low price offered for this device, it is a tremendous value. Hope you too can lose yourself in an endless jam that brings a smile to your face! Keep on jammin' All the best!

I have been looking for a good headphone amp for home practicing for years. I guess the technology is finally here. The NUX MP2 is absolutely wonderful. Download the app to your phone and you can control all the settings. And there a ton of settings to choose from. Three different categories of amps with multiple amp models in each one, with different speakers as well. Also has a very good range of effects to add. Sounds amazing, you can easily dial in what you want with the phone app and store it to the MP2. You can also play along to backing tracks stored on your phone through the headphones. Bluetooth is very easy to setup. It also can connect straight to your computer for recording while you are using the headphones. You can also connect the headphone jack to a set of external powered speakers if you want to use it without the headphones at bedroom levels. You can now take an electric guitar, this plug, a set of headphones, and your phone and travel with a complete studio anywhere you want. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

The one negative my girlfriend and I have is how much the volume changes between the presets... And there isn't a way to easily adjust a "master volume", even in the app. Oh, and instructions said there's a toggle for bass vs guitar - didn't see that actually work nor show up in the app. We played around with it today as many ways as we could (didn't try streaming audio to a laptop). My girlfriend has been playing guitar for 20 years and is astounded by all of the magic in this gizmo. She's got a spendy fender amp which does Bluetooth and has all the magic settings and loved how this basically replaces her amp. Just the simple headphones on and ability to walk around playing made her really happy. I got the app & connected then plugged in to my bass amp so we could both hear the various effects. I love how there are a number of presets and the way the app has filters arranged by a few types with lots of ways to mess with the settings. It's infinitely adjustable. Tried out the beats, background tracks, everything. Nice unit. I paired it with the BT audio out from my phone and was immediately playing along to my playlist I'm working on learning ... Or with songster pro. And I can do this anywhere & not disturb people. 🥺 This gizmo is a must buy.

The Mighty Plug is a decent device for guitar practice and has over 12 amps in it with distortion pedals and noise gate. Now the 1.5 firmware is what originally ships with the device. Clean is clean but not laser, tweed amp is available, the distortion amps all have too much sizzle to them, Optima acoustic sim is available, and using Dist One with increased drive and tone will have you a chainsaw sound. There is a compressor that is always active that cannot be turned off. Now many of these things give the device a charm that the 2.2 firmware is lacking. What happened? The compressor is now a pedal under EFX, but only one distortion box, or wah can be used under EFX. This means you cannot use a drive, say the TS Screamer or Red Dist, with a distortion amp while the compressor is used. This may sound like you gain more dynamic range and the sound of the instrument is heard more, but you now have to drive the pick into the strings a lot harder. Palm mutes for drop tuning are a little muddier now, and fifth-root open chords do not sound alien-like. So the automatic compression will be missed. I said clean on the 1.5 was not laser, on the 2.2 it is. Clean sounds incredibly natural, and you can use more gain before clipping occurs. Well using chorus with clean would sound great, huh? Well the Chorus effect is not working. I tried to turn on CE1 with clean and distorted amps and no difference was made. The stereo chorus is also gone. The Optima acoustic amp is gone. It was not very powerful with a speaker. Acoustic simulators was a draw for me to purchase this product as a beginner guitarist. My previous product was the Nux GP-1 Guitar Plug. I would use it with an old karaoke machine. I then bought the Mighty Plug along with a Bluetooth speaker to use it as a portable guitar amplifier that was all battery-powered. The Mighty Plug can also be used with headphones for silent practice and playing along to songs of all genres. From playing the pop rock songs of your youth and adding dangerous power chords to them, or playing to an already extreme song, the Mighty Plug did it all on 1.5 firmware. So if you like the digital, static sound of your Fireman or VH4 amp or even the auto fuzz sound of your Recto, or even just using chorus effects (you can have Alice In Chains in your living room when tuned to Eb flat), just use the original firmware and do not think about upgrading it. If you have Windows XP, the firmware update tool will not even run- Windows 10 is necessary to run the firmware upgrade tool. That is even more reason to skip the upgrade. So now I cannot downgrade at all and have to wait for NUX to improve their product. One thing to point out. The plug hinge gets real stiff after turning all the time. If you press too hard, the hinge will crack. The plug will just flop from your guitar, but the device still works. I would give it a five star rating for its low price, feature set, and ease of use. After the firmware update, the device would have a three from me because the auto compressor is gone and the chorus effects are not available. Also if you use a Bass guitar, the "Bass mode" is gone.

Bin begeistert! Habe mir den kleinen Verstärker zum leisen Üben mit meiner e-Violine (Yamaha YEV mit Piezo-Pickup) gegönnt, da ich den Kabelsalat zum Verstärker und zurück zu den Kopfhörern nicht mehr wollte und es auch auf Reisen mitnehmen will. Kurzfassung: + durch Bluetooth-Verbindung zur mächtigen Android/IOS-App viele Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten + Metronom & Songs über Bluetooth zuschaltbar + Akkulaufzeit von ~4h -> keine Batterien + auch für Piezo-Pickups geeignet (nutze ihn mit meiner E-Violine Yamaha-YEV) + durch Kombination von Hardware mit Bluetooth und der Software (App) noch viel Potenzial da (siehe Mightier App)! - Hersteller-App gibt nicht alle Möglichkeiten her (Abhilfe schafft da die "Mightier App" der Community) - leider keine Master-Volume einstellbar! Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen. Lange Fassung: Da es ja keine speziellen Amps für e-Violinen gibt, war ich erst skeptisch, zumal es noch keine Erfahrungsberichte in der Richtung gab. Es gibt ja bereits diverse kleine Modeling Amps mit Kopfhöreranschluss, allerdings ist das der erste in diesem kleinen Format, der auch Bluetooth unterstützt und man so alles einfach über die App konfigurieren kann. Das war auch der Grund warum ich mich hierfür entschieden habe. Das Gerät wird über Micro-USB geladen und der Akku hält ca. 4h, was für eine Übungs-Session ausreichend ist. Das Modeling findet komplett über die App statt, am Gerät selbst kann man lediglich die gespeicherten Channels wechseln. In der App hat man viele Möglichkeiten das Modeling nach Bedarf anzupassen. Ich konnte mir die Effekte so zusammenstellen, dass ein echt guter, fast akustisch anmutender Ton zusammen kommt, was mich sehr überrascht hat, da es ja eigentlich für Gitarren/Bass konzipiert ist. Die Kopfhörer machen natürlich aus einiges aus. Je nach Ziel meiner Practice-Session nutze ich verschiedene Kopfhörer. Für all meine Kopfhörer habe ich eigene Channels eingerichtet und abgespeichert, so muss ich nicht jedes mal alles neu einstellen nur weil ich andere Kopfhörer anschließe, sondern muss nur den Channel wechseln. Weiterer großer Bonuspunkt für mich ist das Metronom und die Möglichkeit Songs über das Smartphone zu übertragen, helfen ungemein beim Üben, wollte ich nicht mehr missen. Noch ein Vorteil der App: sie wird nicht nur in Verbindung mit diesem Amp genutzt, sondern auch mit den diversen anderen Amps des Herstellers. Dadurch hat sich auch eine kleine Community drum herum entwickelt, welche eine eigene App (Mightier Amp) herausgebracht hat, die noch mehr Features bietet! Dort kann man zum einen alle Effekte miteinander kombinieren (die Hersteller-App ist da ein bisschen restriktiv). Außerdem kann man die Profile/Channels auf dem Smartphone speichern und so viel rumspielen ohne sofort die Speicherplätze auf dem Gerät überschreiben zu müssen. Bin mal gespannt, was da in Zukunft noch alles dazukommt, denn durch die Kombination von Gerät+Software gibt es noch viel Potenzial! Zum Üben mit Kopfhören ohne den ganzen Kabelsalat für mich die beste Lösung!

Avendo già il mini amplificatore Nux Mighty Lite mi aspettavo che anche questo fosse di mio gradimento. Devo dire che è ottimo avevo già un apparecchio simile ma di quelli da 15 euro onesto ma con un suono specialmente sui puliti appena passabile. Questo già con i 4 preset (simulazione acustica, pulito, crunch e distorto) compre tutte le situazioni per esercitarsi a casa anche solo per 5 minuti, prendi la chitarra infili le cuffie e suoni. Ma é con l app che diventa di un altro livello, una quantità di effetti, ampli ed IR. Batteria integrata, possibilità di suonare sulle basi tramite Bluetooth, c 'é perderci una giornata a provare tutte le impostazioni. Fa anche da interfaccia USB per registrarsi sul pc (non ho ancora provato). Pro: -ottima resa sonora anche con cuffiette da cellulare -plug and play (é proprio il caso di dirlo) -gran numero di effetti e suoni tramite l app -batteria integrata con vari stili -ottima app per lo smartphone -funziona da scheda per registrare su pc -3 modalità: per chitarra acustica,elettrica e basso Contro -Solo due tasti fisici: uno per accendere l altro per cambiare tra i 4 suoni preimpostati, manca il volume quindi o usate l app o il potenziometro della chitarra. -la forma ed il jack snodato si adattano meglio a chitarre con prese jack montate oblique (tipo stratocaster per intenderci). Giudizio finale : consigliato per esercitarsi dovunque e a qualsiasi orario Aggiornamento -Anche come scheda usb da connettere al PC per registrare funziona benissimo, si può anche scegliere se inviare il suono effettato o dry al software DAW (io uso Garage Band). -l ultima versione dell app adesso ti avverte se sono uscite nuove revisioni del firmware, ottimo anche se bisogna usare un PC non si può fare dal app stessa. -In ultimo ho letto che qualcuno di lamentava che le backtrack si sentissero solo sullo smartphone , in realtà si sentono in cuffia, consiglio di leggere il manuale e verificare le impostazioni bluetooth nell app, ci sono 2 diverse modalità di connessione diverse.
