A sturdy case still keeping an out-of-date Apple device safe
The Speck case fits snugly on our iPod touch (4th Gen). The front ridge sticks up a fair amount above the screen and is rubberized to provide some bit of shock absorption. I can tell by looking that the weakest area will probably be the bottom of the case near the charging port. It's such a lengthy thin strip that I'm sure it will eventually tear with repeated handling. The only frustration I have with the case is the buttons. This is partly due to where Apple placed the volume and standby buttons on the slanted case edge. However, Speck made the buttons on their case so tough to squeeze, that it takes an unexpected amount of pressure to activate any of the three buttons.Getting past that one frustration, I recommend the sturdiness of this case over others out there. While I don't expect a fully encased bubble of protection around the device with this case, I do expect any drops on the edge or the back of the case will result in no damage to our device. For protecting the screen, take a look at the Zagg line of products.

Great Product.....with some flaws
I've had this case for a little over a month now its been working great. The case is quite easy to both put on and take off. Everything lines up perfectly even with a fully body protector for my ipod touch. The design looks awesome and feels awesome in the hand. The lay on the table design is also great. The screen doesn't touch the surface you are laying your ipod on and the rubber provides excellent grip. This prevents the ipod from moving. There are two minor flaws to the case, however, which led me to give 4 stars instead of 5. The rubberized buttons for the sleep/wake and volume buttons are quite hard to press. It requires a bit of pressure and is a little bit uncomfortable. The other flaw is the thin piece at the bottom of the ipod. It does give a little, but hasn't broken. It shouldn't be a problem, as long as you treat that section with a little bit of care. Other than that, this is a great case and I fully recommend it to anyone looking for a case that looks nice and provides very nice protection for you ipod touch 4th generation.

Love it!
Just a great iPod case. It offers excellent protection, including a small "overhang" for face-down iPod placement (not all cases have this). It's also pretty "grippy", so the iPod shouldn't easily slip from your hand. The case's bottom opening is large enough to accomodate my charging dock...the other reviews that point out the strip along the bottom opening as flimsy are correct. I can see this breaking at some point...but I plan to be careful with it.The only reason why I did not give this cover 5 stars is that it does not include a screen protector (as other brands do), which means that the Speck CandyShell Grip Case may not be the best value (you'll need to purchase a screen protector separately). Check out SwitchEasy covers (which come with two screen protectors)...their "Colors" basic model, and "Rebel Touch" premium model are very well reviewed, and their customer service is top notch.By mentioning SwitchEasy I do not mean to diminish the Speck CandyShell Grip Case. I love it. The 2-tone White/Black design is very cool looking, and as long as it holds up...it's a winner!

Had other cases and loved this one - but design flawed
I've had the Speck Rubberized PixelCase and a CandyShell case. The rubberized is good, but gets linty. It also continuously developed an oily residue between the back of the iPod and the inside of the case. The all plastic CandyShell case is great - but very, very slippery. This CandyShell Grip is the best of both worlds. We also bought this case for our teen daughters for the iPods we got them for Christmas. They love them.BUT - after just two months - on my case and one of my daughters' the bottom piece broke along the front edge of the iPod. The plastic broke, but not the rubber - yet. It is an unfortunate design flaw. I'm super careful with tech gadgets. But that thin plastic edge is located near the dock connector. If you use non-Apple connectors, the fit is too tight, actually buckling the plastic when connected. We use a Griffin AC charger. Eventually the over-stressed plastic broke at the corner. Using only Apple connectors might help, but it doesn't take much to break that piece. If Speck fixed that, this would be a much better product.

Great case! Great price on Amazon!
The Speck CandyShell Grip Case for the 4th gen iPod Touch works great and looks really cool on the latest iPod Touch. The camera hole is the perfect size and doesn't obstruct the camera's view in any way. I have dropped my iPod numerous times off of my bed and this case takes the full force of impact and still doesn't break. The only issue I had with this case was the bottom portion of thin plastic where the ports for the dock connector and the headphone port are. Because the area is used a lot thanks to constantly plugging and unplugging headphones, as well as charging the iPod Touch, the thin plastic/rubber material cracked. I was bummed, but then I decided to contact customer service over at Speck(company that manufactures the case). They apologized for the problem and said they would have a new one shipped to me by the next day. Sure enough, here's the FedEx courier ringing my doorbell with the new case! I would definitely recommend this case to any 4th gen iPod Touch owner because it looks cool and it protects your iPod! Plus I got it for a great price compared to a brick-and-motor store.

I DO like a Speck of Candy!
This black and white cover for my white iTouch was a good choice or me. It is rubbery in the right places so it doesn't slip out of my hands when in a hurry, and yet is smooth in other places so it slips right into the pockets of my bag.The buttons on the iTouch are a little hard to press with the cover on, but if I press harder and hold them down it is not a problem. The buttons are for "on and off" and "volume", so they are mostly not used. The only problem I had with this case is that the shiny plastic cracked in the very thinnest place by the plug-in at the bottom. It does not effect use or looks or quality of the item. I would recommend this itouch cover, especially for the white iTouch.

One sexy looking casing
I loved this design from the instant I looked at it, sleek, shiny and reminds me of Halo for some reason which tickled the geek in me.This case makes the iPod touch feel less fragile. I know when I bought mine I was so scared of damaging it that it was like handling a burns victim. This case solved that. Its rubber grooves are great, the case is in fact quite flexible, which I guess is great for absorbing any more major shocks and bumps (not that I've tried it!).I would highly recommend also buying some screen protectors with this case since most screen protectors are quite oilaphobic (or however you spell it), more so than the screen itself I find and it does help since this case has an overlap with the screen and the outer edges are made of the same rubbery material as the back which makes it really difficult to remove any grease and having the grease less clingy on the screen does make it easier.
