## Description

WhisperFit EZ is the perfect solution for any remodeler looking to quickly and easily replace an existing fan from below the ceiling. This fan enables you to utilize existing duct, while its low profile housing design ensures a proper fit in virtually any ceiling. Installation is made simple with the Flex-Z Fast installation bracket with articulating joints for easy positioning through a ceiling cavity. The slide and snap-in junction box and duct collar provide even greater installation flexibility when wiring and attaching the duct. Built-in metal flange provides blocking for penetrations through drywall as an Air Barrier, and assists with the decrease in leakage in the Building Envelope during blower door testing. Once installed, use the Pick-A-Flow speed selector to customize the air flow to meet your customers' ventilation needs. Fan model FV-08-11VFM5 incorporates a SmartAction Motion Sensor. Whisper Fit EZ is UL listed for tub/shower enclosure when GFCI protected and includes a 4" duct with 3" duct adapter. Can be used to comply with ASHRAE 62.2, LEED, IAP, California Title 24 and WA Ventilation Code. I found out this is slightly bigger, which was a problem because the ceiling joists are unusually close where the original fan was installed. I eventually got it installed, and the difference in noise levels is like night and day! Really nice. I have to commend @WiggleWorm's review, however, because it was a step-by-step guide to disabling the motion sensor. While the motion sensor was totally effective at starting the fan, it shuts off too quickly (for our use at least). @WiggleWorm's guide couldn't have been easier to follow.

**Q: Is this rated for damp locations?  In other words, can i install it in an enclosed 15 sq ft shower stall?**
A: This is rated, per the manual, for tub and shower enclosures, BUT only if on a GFCI circuit. So the electric line that this gets installed on, as to have a GFCI outlet/switch somewhere on the line. An example would be if you tap into the usual GFCI outlet near a bathroom sink to install this unit.

**Q: Does the fv-08-11vfm5 have a light?**
A: No. The Panasonic FV-0510VSL1 does. I think they are basically the same fan, one with a light and one without.

**Q: Can the motion sensor be disabled? And only use with on/off switch?**
A: We use ours with the off/on switch.

**Q: Dimensions of cutout for my existing fan is 7" x 7". will the panasonic fv-08-11vfm5 whisperfitez fan with motion sensor fit?**
A: Nope. Going to have to make it bigger I believe. I did. Pretty easy though.

I eventually got it installed, and the difference in noise levels is like night and day! Really nice. I have to commend @WiggleWorm's review, however, because it was a step-by-step guide to disabling the motion sensor. While the motion sensor was totally effective at starting the fan, it shuts off too quickly (for our use at least). @WiggleWorm's guide couldn't have been easier to follow.

Installed two of these to replace old noisy fans. These fans have been doing great. The installation instructions weren't the greatest, but I figured out how to install them. Somehow I initially missed that you took off the exhaust/electrial box cover off to use the mounting bracket. I installed these from the attic too(if that helps people). Another tip is watch out for causing any obstructions. I read if the fan detects an obstruction, it will up the fan speed to full blast. I used a 4 inch damper, and that caused it to speed up, making it noisier. I knew it did this, but didn't think the 4inch damper would cause it to happen. In my install, it opened to 6 inch pipe, so I got a 6 inch damper(get Aldes best reviews I saw, and bought 2 of them) and that reduced any "obstructions" that the fan would encounter. Even on the low setting(80cfm) with 12 feet of pipe, it opened the dampers just fine. Another reason I got this was the motion sensor. It will run for 20 minutes, so reduced the need for a timer, and will work if I ever end up renting out my house.
