**Q: About how many rocks are in one bag?**
A: Not very many!  I'm gonna need to buy 3 more bags to fill in a 24" x 24" pit

**Q: I want to use these for a project with 96 art students. Are there over 96 rocks in the 10 lb bag? If we drop the larger rocks, will they break?**
A: Theres only about 10 rocks in the bag - super disappointing

**Q: Can I use these rocks for a cooking fire pit?**
A: Don’t know if suitable for cooking.

We used for decorative fire pit in outdoor “conversation or gathering table”. Did not want to cook and have smoke bothering guests sitting around the fire pit.

**Q: can these be used to creat steam inside an oven?**
A: I don’t know but I highly doubt it because that would require moisture and these lava rocks are quite dry

These are fairly large and heavy rocks. Perfect for my paludarium setup!

These are perfect for terrariums and paludariums. Very light and porous stones, you get about 2 cubic feet worth of them. Good deal even compared to my local hardware stores and much larger pieces of stone

I bought a bag of these through Amazon & the rocks were perfect size without issues. We put it in our gas fire-pit outside and lite the fire. No problems. However, we needed more rocks to fill the pit. A week later I went into my orders to purchase from the same vendor. The rocks seemed a bit larger than the first bag we received but that is not an issue. However, we put these in the fire-pit and within 15 minutes we had a rock explode and pop out of the pit like bomb. We let it burn for a while thinking it may have just gotten wet somewhere down the road. Today we lite it again, same problem. It pops and cracks and spits projectiles out of the pit!!! Super unhappy, not sure how to return since they are all mixed together with the other rocks. My advice, do yourself a favor, buy from a reputable BBQ company and pay for shipping. Or your local store. These are dangerous!
