I have been using this for about a week now and I have to say I'm actually pretty pleased with it. The adhesion was not so great initially, I had to push and hold for a few minutes for it to stick to the clean dashboard. After a while it did stick enough to stay put. THIS DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH AN IPHONE 12. It will somewhat stick, but you definitely need the supplied magnet pads and it works like a charm. HOWEVER, note that with the magnet pads it renders magsafe useless as I am unable to charge my phone with magsafe. So its sort a double edged sword. I personally don't use the magnet pads and it has enough magnet strength to stick and prop the bottom of the phone on the dashboard. Overall for what it is, I think its a great product compared to the others out there. I would recommned.

See Below for 1 Year UpdateTried a bunch of products, liked this one the best. Returned the rest and got more of these for the other vehicles. The applications included third generation Prii and prior generation of Ford Ranger with a Android cell phone such as a Nokia 4.2,We were not able to use the included 3"/80mm pad due to there not being a flat area where we wanted to put it. So we stuck the Car Mount directly to the dash. Even though the dash is textures and not smooth, it seems to have stuck well.There are six relatively strong magnets under the silicone rubber top. And they seemed to hold well, even through a relatively thick cell phone cover. But, if you have a really heavy phone/tablet and a thicker cover, you may need to stick the metal piece to the outside of the cover, instead of the inside as we did.The double ball and socket joints allow enough freedom of movement to set the phone at a good angle. We tried another model, with only one ball and socket joint, and it didn't have quite enough movement to point the cell phone where we wanted it.Except for the company logo printing, everything is a uniform black, so it looks nice, and does not cause any glare. The company logo is the one issue. Wife thinks it looks great, except for that. We would like to remove the "JOYROOM" printing from the device. But the solvents we have tried don't work.1 Year UpdateStill like the product. One of them was getting loose and had to be reapplied. The other ones have held. Maybe we just did a better job on the others, or maybe it was because we use this one more.The units come with an 80mm black plastic pad, which you are supposed to use if you are applying to a curved surface on your dash. The pad is flat on both sides, so it really won't stick to a surface with any curve to it. And given that the base of the JOYROOM itself is 35mm, the pad needs a much larger flat surface than the the JOYROOM itself. However, it should be useful on many flat surfaces that are textured.For a curved surface, one would want a 35mm pad that was curved on one side and flat on the other with extra adhesive foam tape pads. However, since different dashes and mounting locations have different curvatures, you would need a assortment. This would be great either as a separate product or it could be included with the JOYROOM. (It would also be possible to produce adhesive foam tape disks that were designed so one side would conform to a curved surface, while the other was flat.)Another option might be to use a foam tape disk that was thicker. The extra foam might allow it to better conform to a curved surface. The tape disks says 3M VHB™. But i don't know if such disks comes in different thicknesses.Since we didn't have a thicker foam tape disk, our fix was to use two pieces of the foam tape disks, one on top of the other. We will see if this works longer than the first attempt.Also, the instructions do not say what to use to remove the residue adhesive from the dash with, if you want to remove the device.

I loved this product. However I lost it. I’ll prob purchase another.

The base needs a stronger sticky to hold it down when you have your phone on. Mine just falls down cause with the weight of the phone it’s just not stable. Luckily I was able to move mine to a different spot that I didn’t need the base and already had new sticky backs to reapply. So still able to use.

Magnet not strong enough when put directly on phone before otter box. Works better when put in between the 2 otter box layers. Other than that I highly recommend

I was skeptical about the capabilities of this little car mount simply because my Samsung Galaxy S10 plus is a large phone and It's in an Otterbox, making it even larger and heavier. I didn't think that a small round metal plate could stick to the magnet of the mount, especially going over railroad tracks or the normal bumps in the road without the phone falling or causing the swivel to lean down or move from where I positioned it. I've had this mount for almost a year now. 1) It's been great getting having both of my cupholders available again 2) This makes glancing over (and not down) at my maps on my phone a lot easier 3) I don't have a smooth dashboard but the adhesion of the mount is still as great as the day I bought it. In Central Texas it gets HOT so I figured that by mid summer (last year), the mount would start to slip/slide and eventually come off but it hasn't and I'm impressed! Best $13.95 I've ever spent.

The Joyroom phone mount is sturdy, simple and effective. When I first received it, I did not think it was going to work, because I bought a phone ring with a ceramic disc. It will not work with this mount, however I added the Joyrooms magnetic disc and it works great. I did not need to use the additional larger dash mount for uneven surfaces, my dash has a smooth surface just below the main dashboard and it fits- perfect. Its very inconspicuous, which I prefer. The charger line runs right up to the phone. The mount swivels to give the option of your phone in the horizontal or vertical position. Nice little item and well priced

Always drops the phone with iphone 11 max pro though im using the big sticky pad
