I was hesitant to buy a "cheap" wheel, but was pleasantly surprised by this one. Here are the pros and cons. First, it's very affordable. Second, the smaller size makes it very mobile; I even took mine and threw while I was camping at the lake. Third, it's very sturdy, no wobbles. Now for the cons. First, the low-speed is rather tricky; high torque... like a race car jerking at the start line. Second, there are no bat pins, so removing projects from the wheel sometimes requires the removal of the splash pan so they will slide off. I will be ordering plain 10" bats and securing them with clay--old style--so maybe this will help. Third, the legs are short and not adjustable, so be prepared for an aching lower back. To remedy this, however, I bought some dorm bed-risers for $12. Problem solved. Overall, this is a great little wheel for the money, and I am able to throw small projects at home or on the go... so I'm very happy with it.

The price was too good to be true. Wheel is about half the size of a normal potters wheel for an adult. One of the legs bent when I took it out of the box. The weld for the leg is cracked. This might be good for a 4-5 year old, but it’s a pretty pathetic pottery wheel.

While the product works satisfactorily, it is definitely not a professional quality wheel. I was set to buy a $600 wheel but the well known company is having trouble fullfilling the orders and I wanted it right away, so I checked Amazon and found this one. I was afraid the torque would not be strong enough for centering, but that did not prove to be a problem. I've had a number of professional wheels over the years but I haven't thrown pots for five years and wanted to get back into it. Several characteristics are a little troublesome. The cord to the foot pedal is too short. It limits where you can put the wheel on stands or table tops. Otherwise you have to use it on the floor and sit on a low stool. I need to stand up to throw, so will build a stand for it. May have to put the pedal on a step. The wheel has a nice paint job which cleans easily but the removable pan is really hard to separate and put together, so I had to sand down the grabbers to make the joining of the two halves easier. The foot pedal is not as responsive as more expensive models but is adequate. You need to anchor the wheel somehow or when you center the wheel will move around because it is not very heavy. When I build a stand I will have a fence around the top to lock in the legs. the picture shows the wheel against a cupboard to keep it from sliding. The wheel is not made to throw big pots using 10 to 20 lbs of clay. But it should be fine for five lbs or so. That will make a lot of nice functional pieces. There's also no bat system. (platters that go on the wheel head to make for easy removal of pots to dry.) Anything you make you have to cut off with a wire. Be sure to order a pair of "lifters" so you can pick up wet pots without distorting them. I'm 82. so I'm past the days of throwing giant pots, but I think this inexpensive wheel will do nicely for what I want to do.

I'm a beginner, and this wheel is great for me. The peddle doesn't need to have your foot on it to maintain the speed, and it spins in both directions for lefties and righters. Great bargain

My daughter loved this pottery wheel for her 18th birthday. It’s made really well and will last for years of making pottery.

Might be a good wheel if it would only turn on. Came without the cord too, so after we finally found a matching one, we discovered that the machine is defective and won't turn on. Pretty disappointing when you're so excited for it to come 😏 The splash pan is very cheap and feels like it's easily breakable. Comes with all the tools.

For the price, you can't beat this! I recently started to learn to wheel throw, and wanted to be able to practice at home between my weekly classes but studios around me require 3+ multi-week classes before they approve you for a drop-in membership. This has been PERFECT to practice at home without breaking the bank. My only gripe is that it is VERY low to the ground and the legs are not adjustable, which was causing some back pain. I was able to prop it up on some wide furniture risers and that has been working well for me. I would say that this is definitely not a 'pro' wheel, but it is perfect at making wheel-thrown pottery more accessible for beginners!

You get what you pay for! Its pretty basic, no bells or whistles. It's just a wheel on a switch no adjustable legs or bat holes/pegs. It's also a little smaller than average but imo it's good for a beginner starting out at home. I'm enjoying it a lot.
