These products were a bit confusing to review... I got a couple of items that appeared to be mislabeled.If in fact this is the hairspray, it smells amazing but is a VERY light hold. In fact... There's almost no hold. I've seen a video from the company where the model uses it WHILE styling (i.e., before using a flat iron, etc.). This may be the way to go with this product, as if you use it as a finishing spray, the only benefit you'll get is a very VERY light hold and a wonderful fragrance.If this is is for the shine mousse: I always use "shine" products on my hair, and am used to using oils (e.g., oil shine sprays, treatment oils, etc.), so when I saw that this was a mousse, I wondered how well it would work. The product is fantastic. It really makes your hair look incredibly shiny and healthy without being heavy. The fragrance is the kicker. It smells SO good. It's hard to place in that it's not a "fruity" smell or a "floral" smell, etc. It's a lot like Oribe, in that it's wonderful and sophisticated but hard to describe. It's a scent that most likely men and/or women would enjoy. I've tried a few of the Alterna "My Hair My Canvas" products and so far, this one is the best. Highly recommended! ~Amy

Okay, first I wanted to be clear that I’m reviewing Alterna’s My Hair My Canvas Shine On Defining Foam. For some reason they have different products like shampoo, conditioner, and some various styling products, but all the reviews and average rating are thrown in together. You need to read the reviews closely and check the rating to see if it applies to what you are wanting to order.That being said, this is a very nice product.- Nice bottle arriving just as pictured- East to dispense product- Nice fluffy mousse product- Lightweight, no noticeable residue, not sticky- Very pleasant and LIGHT smell which is great. Fragrance is near end of ingredient list.- Leaves subtle shine- Seemed to reduce some frizz and make hair a bit more manageable, definitely smoother- ABSOLUTELY NO CRUNCHY FEELING- MoisturizingI really do like it. The only thing I will say is that I have very thick, curly/wavy/wild hair. If I brush my hair while it is dry in its natural state, it just poofs out. If I were to try to use this in my natural hair after brushing, is isn’t going to do anything magical. I never like to wear my hair like that though.For me this is a great addition to my hair products, but not exactly a stand alone product, at least for my hair type- though I feel it is high quality. I have a very strong feeling that if I had a couple of the other products from this line, I would get incredible results.My friend that has thinner and straighter hair tried this as well and said she really liked it a lot.I’ll be sure to update my review if any issues arise or if I have any other comments to make.I hope my review was helpful to someone!

The media could not be loaded.  This foam definitely gives me soft hold, and keeps the shine in my hair! Love the smell!

Nothing to write home about just get a cantu curl cream or something and save 15$

I can't say that I was blown away by this product. I have been using the Shine On Mousse for a few days now to style my hair. It seems pretty average to me when it comes to being a mousse. It does define curls, but I have other products that are A LOT cheaper that work just as well. For the shine factor, I don't really notice any difference between my un-styled hair, and my hair after being styled with the Shine On Mousse. It gives me the same amount of shine that my big box store brand mousse gives, but with less hold.Due to the price of this, and for what it is, I don't think I'd recommend it.
