Genius! Nice box and some mad reviews
Arrived packaged in the most beautiful box I think I've ever seen, it even has a magnetic catch on the lid!. Possibly explains why the thing is so stupidly expensive. Genius idea, design something that works well, make it a must-have design and watch the money roll in. Very nice piece of minimal industrial design, despite some of the bonkers reviews (not heavy enough..???), it works just fine, GENTLY position your MacBook in place, GENTLY lift it out again. It holds your expensive laptop perfectly. The 'slot' is lined with soft-touch silicone rubber to cushion the MacBook. Be aware it has a 'front' and a 'back' - the slot is shaped to house the slightly different contour of the lid and the underside of the MacBook. £43 on Amazon, £50 on Apple.com!!! Very nice box tho'....

Great stand but terrible price
I use this with my 2019 Intel 16-inch MBP and the F insert holds it in place quite nice. It saves me a lot of space on my desk and I have it placed in front of my PC that's using the NR200P case. These two setups pretty much take up similar space in terms of height and width.Temperatures are pretty much normal and similar to when I had my MBP flat on the desk (still running in clamshell mode) but airflow is probably improved now. I think the arc blocks a small amount of the exhaust vents on the MBP but doesn't seem to have any negative impacts so far.

Availability is an issue
This makes perfect sense for it’s stated purpose and the rubber inserts are excellent support for your MacBook. I am concerned about availability, I had an excellent experience with after sales service where Twelve South provided me with a new insert, product was supplied with old inserts, due I think to supply issues in Europe. I am very pleased with the design, I would be afraid of commodity stands damaging my laptop.

Good, but overpriced!
Looks good & holds the MacBook well - very sturdy, no issues. With a case on the MBP I had to swap for one of the included inserts, but found it still works well. The reason for docking a star? Most of the price must be in the packaging - I'm glad it arrived safely, but the premium unboxing experience is over the top for a simple laptop stand.

Great space saver
As someone with a small desk, this was a great space saver. I’ve been using my laptop as a makeshift PC during lockdown and it had been taking up a large amount of space on my desk. The item arrived in fantastic packaging, undamaged and on time. No setup or installation required, ready to use from out the box. Simply place your MacBook into the grooves. They are rubber padded so I don’t need to worry about scratching my Mac for a second. The stand is sturdy and I have no worries if I my bash my desk that my Mac will fall (which I have tested out!)The stand also allows me to see my Mac and makes cable management a lot neater. As seen in one of the images, just two cables (power and HDMI) are plugged into the Mac, the rest is hidden away. It acts almost as a cable management solution!Got this on a lightning deal for £27, would definitely buy again. Perhaps would think twice at original price, but the build quality is great and the stand matches the colour of my Mac (space grey) perfectly. For the amount of space it’s saved, it’s a lifesaver! Wish I had bought it earlier. If you don’t use your Mac as a secondary display, which I found I don’t, this is the perfect solution. I previously had a laptop stand which held my Mac open, but it took up a lot of space and I didn’t realise how little I actually use my Mac screen when connected to the desktop.5 stars all around, if it weren’t on a lightning deal perhaps 3 or 4 stars for value. Still recommend!

Great quality stand
Perfect stand for my M1 MacBook Air. It’s awesome if a little expensive at the £50 I paid for it. But then it is an Apple accessory and they tend not to be cheap.

Not compatible with new MacBooks and not future proof!
These stands are great and well worth the money for older models, but since upgrading to a new shape 2021 MacBook, I have found the fit is pretty poor and the manufacturer still hasn’t released new inserts so have stopped using it.They also state on their website that the current model isn’t compatible with the new 14” and 16” MacBooks, but have said on twitter insert F works (albeit with a tight fit) which is inconsistent and confusing.I tried insert F and found after prolonged use over a couple of days my MacBook lid sticks to the body causing a lot of stress on the rubber seal when opening it.For this reason I’ve knocked a few stars off, the manufacturer boasts about future compatibility on their website and only needing to buy new inserts when new MacBook models are released (rather than a whole new stand), we are now a few months after release of a new model without any sign of new inserts so this is a huge let down. I now just have this sat in a drawer as a result as it’s useless.

Useful and looks great!
I ordered this for my new MacBook as I already have a work laptop space is a premium. This works great at the side of the desk, keeps my MacBook out of the way when not in use and also looks sleek. Worth the price.
