will these be "no-show" in boat shoes?

no. they will still be visible. I just checked with a pair of Topsiders. No-show really means with running shoes for these in my estimation.

Hi, i'm a mens 12.5 sometimes 13... should i try the large or the xl one?

Personally I would go for the XLR. They seem to run a little small especially after washing and drying.
