Talens Art Creation Sketchbook, 140 GSM/94 lbs, Black, 3.5 x 5.5 in

Has a lot of pages, really is pocket sized, comfortable to use, will need to be held open, comes with a sold band and a smooth cover. Tolerates various mediums well. Was able to put down thick paint pen layers without bleed or tearing. Better for art but can be used for writing and will take fountain pen ink well. Was able to use fine liners with ink in it. Tiny so be carefully to check measurements if you're not sure what size this is. It's recommended a lot and less itself to experimentation since the cost isn't too high.

I’m a fan of the Talens Art Creation Sketchbook line. The price point allows me to grab it and not worry about creating a finished piece of art, although I have used it in that fashion. The pages are slightly toned in a warm, off white. They read a bit yellow if compared to a bright, pure white, but not to the point of distraction or being considered “toned”. The 94 pound page weight allows me to use almost any media, even in layers. Very smooth surface. I’ve used watercolor, but this isn’t really a proper watercolor paper. I’d pass if you need something exclusively for that purpose, but don’t miss this line for mixed media work or play. I’m enjoying the 8.3 x 11.7 size. Still light and portable enough for grabbing on the go.

This pocket sized sketch book is just right for carrying along - about the size of a 3X5" index card. The elastic keeps it closed so that the pages do not crease in my bag and the book is perfect for making a quick reference sketch, zentangling, or small paintings. Would definitely buy again.

Really great paper for what I do which is usually either graphite or fountain pen. Paper is very smooth which makes pencils glide easily and best of all, the fountain pen inks I use perform wonderfully which is usually the part that makes other sketchbooks unusable for me. Even the “inking sketchbooks” often feather terribly. I haven’t found any feathering or weirdness on this sketchbook. Bought another!

i love this sketchbook, the paper is really smooth which wasn’t really my cup of tea but i think because it’s also really thick (140 gsm) it doesnt make it as annoying for me. The lines are really crisp when you use this sketchbook. I’ve tried most of my inks, they don’t bleed through. i also tried watercolor and as long as you use 1 layer i think it’s good, it will warp a bit though the more water you put on it but still holds up pretty well! the only thing that bled through was the sharpie marker. tried crayola marker, watercolor, micron fineliners, brushpens etc. great paper! recommend.

I already love it because of how the paper feels... even though I haven't used it yet. I'll update my review when I do! UPDATE: I absolutely love this sketchbook (I got the 21x29). I mostly sketch with graphite and colored pencils, so the thickness slightly rough paper are perfect for me. It also has more pages than I expected, which of course I'm super happy about. 10/10 highly recommend Talens

Love this sketch book! Not too heavy but can still take watercolor. Will bleed with markers but I don’t mind. I’ve use various medium and it’s smooth with the slightest bit of tooth.

I buy this sketchbook every time I need a new sketchbook its awesome and layfat and you can paint and use markers in it.

Sidorna är tjocka och olinjerade. Fungerar bra också för vattenfärg. Alltid nöjd med detta märke. Tåliga böcker med tjocka permar. Bra gummiband runt som håller boken stängd.

Absolutely love this little sketchbook. The price point is great compared to my Moleskine sketchbooks so I’m not afraid to experiment in this little Talens book. The paper only takes a light wash though, still good in my opinion. Well worth the money. The paper is a nice off white too. Will purchase again.

Love it! I love the switch between smoothe and watercolor paper and the pages are thick with a great feel to them. I have already tried out all kindes of mediums on it, like watercolor, acrylic or markers. Even with a lot of layering, the only thing that had a slight bleed was the markers and they never bled trough to the next page. It's definitely a great finde for the price and quality. I would recommend it to anybody old or young, and It makes a great gift!
