With a brush like this it is very expected to lose some bristles at first, the bristles are natural hair and I imagine that some break, and some may not have been caught in the ferrule properly in manufacture, so simply wash them really well, brush the bristles back and forth in the sink with some good soap or shampoo and then I always like to put just a small amount of hair conditioner on them and rinse well to keep the hair soft. Squeeze the water out and do not dry them on the bristle end, I like to dry them in the dish drainer, the slight angle allows the water to drain rather than sit at the base of the bristles.
