Lots of corner cutting and bad design choices, but a decent deal for the money.
I've owned both a Jetboil Zip and this stove, which is clearly a knockoff, incorporating many of the jetboil's ideas. It's substantially larger than a jetboil -- find if you're camping with 2 or 3 people, not so great if you're solo. Differences:PLUS:* has igniter, which my jetboil lacked until I made one.* plastic frame of base is quite rugged.* lid has a rubber "lifting tab" that makes it easy to remove without burning yourself.* Lid has good vent-hole for steam to escape.NEUTRAL:* larger volume than the jetboil* Took about 9 minutes to boil a liter of cool water in a 68-degree house at sea level. That's quite a lot slower than the jetboil, although I didn't get the sense that there was a lot of waste heat, so perhaps you should take this with a grain of salt.MINUS:* Stabilizer base has a snap-fitting to hold legs extended (see second photo); this looks weak and prone to breaking. Not a big deal, because i never wished I had one of these on the jetboil anyhow.* Stove assembly appears to be chromed steel rather than stainless; a magnet sticks to it (although loosely; see 3rd pic); I assume it's so-so chinese stainless.* Plastic frame on base is much more rugged than jetboil...which is totally unnecessary, because the jetboil's was tough enough already. There's probably an extra ounce of material here.* Gas-control made of needlessly heavy gauge wire, and doesn't actually fold all the way flat* No "drinking cup", which on the jetboil isn't worth much as a drinking cup, but does a great job of keeping the "heat ring" from acting as a "cold ring" while you're drinking your tea/coffee from the pot if, like me, you don't carry a mug.* Hard-plastic (polycarbonate?) lid (see fourth photo) is begging for someone to sit on it and break it; loose fit in kettle, too.* Pot handle is not the twin-curved-wire thing shown here, but a much beefier assembly with hard-plastic coating (ee fourth photo), perhaps for easy gripping, but it's tough enough and heavy enough that you could use it to lift a 10 pound item with no problem. Probably another ounce or two just in this handle!* Pot handle folds over lid and is secured by metal wire assembly for positive locking (the brass thing in last photo)... but that locking assembly is further excess weight. What were they thinking?* A small fuel canister rests on the burner for stowing...but with lots of wasted space. Compared with the jetboil. not only is this stove substantially larger, it wastes a lot more space. The jetboil is a masterpiece of compact design; this is sort of the opposite. (The first picture shows this wasted space).* It lacks the temperature-indicator that the jetboild "flash" has (but not the "zip").* Lacks the jetboil's pot-support for wider-based pots (although one is available for about 20 bucks)* Comes with a pointless mesh bag that weighs 1/2 oz.Summary: lots of design compromises make this an OK stove for the kind of camping where you don't have to carry things very far, and space and weight are not at a premium. For $20 bucks less than at the major camping stores, you get a somewhat jetboil-like stove with larger capacity and missing a 20-buck part that lets us use it with larger pots. If weight and size are important to you, especially if you're solo, the jetboil Zip might be a better choice.

So close….
I have a ton of camp chef outdoor cooking gear for tailgating and car camping. Great stuff that allows me to cook for dozens of people. Thought that precision and eye for detail would be evident in this stove and they got close but no cigar. This is not a jetboil killer in any sense but price. None of the elements on its own is a deal breaker but the result of a little heavier, a little slower to boil a little larger to pack and a little less gas efficient all add up to a pass. Not a bad piece of equipment by any means but probably worth the cash to get the jetboil. Sorry campchef I wanted to love it. (Campchef hi-lo propane cooking table is still the one to beat!!).

Great so far!
I'm writing this review to make up for the absolutely horrible information on the Amazon product page, which is not at all reflective of the product I received. The stove I received looks quite different from (though much better than!) the single photo on the product page, so I'm adding a lot of photos. The product page never mentions the size of the pot: it holds 1.3 liters of water, so it's rather large. I wish Camp Chef would make a smaller unit, either 1 or 0.8 liters, which would work so much better for backpacking (I rarely have to boil more than 2 cups of water for a dehydrated meal).Assembly and usage is quite easy--no need to read any instructions!Everything is self-contained when disassembled, and you an even fit a 230 gram fuel canister inside the pot along with the stove and tank stabilizer. The handle folds over the lid and latches to keep everything neatly inside. The handle also feels very sturdy and rigid when the pot is 100% full of water.Inside the pot are markings for cups (1 to 4) and liters (0.25 to 1).Some measurements:Pot diameter (outside): 4.75"Overall packed height: 8.25"Overall set-up height: 14.5"I was impressed by how well it worked. It boiled 0.5 liters of water in 1 minute and 34 seconds (using cool tap water, inside my house with the air temperature at 70 degrees, at 5,600' elevation, and with a nearly-full 230 gram canister of Primus 4 season mix isobutane fuel). In all, this is a great, inexpensive alternative to a Jetboil. The only thing I would change would be to make a smaller version, though I knew how big this was before I bought it so that doesn't affect my overall rating. In short, if you're okay with the size, get one!

Forget Jetboil.
Great product! Easy to use and boils water fast. The fact that this is less expensive than Jetboil is a reason alone to buy this. Not light, but still worth taking on the trail. One setback: when the pot heats up, the metal expands and it becomes difficult to remove it from the stove. Once the pot cools down, then it becomes easy to remove. Other than that, I love it!

Great Purchase, saved some money.
Good alternative to the jetboil. Comparing the price, this is significantly cheaper. Not ultralight, but I bought it for backpacking with 2 or more people so I figured the weight penalty is okay. I use a super small BRS folding stove for just myself anyway. This one has a built in windscreen and feels a lot more solid and refined. The larger sized pot is nice since you can actually boil a full liter without overflowing. The flame control seems a lot better compared to the cheap BRS. Cover has a small vent hole that you can use as a strainer. The handle is great and locks securely when packed up.

Excellent value stove. Light weight and similar to the "Jet" style of camp stove
I ordered this stove as a means of testing a cheaper version of the more expensive "Jet" style of camp stove. The stove cost less then $75 ( almost less than half the cost of the name brand stove...).It arrived in a timely fashion and as described. The whole unit fits together and is of the same dimensions as the competition. Well made and ergonomical. It fits the standard 4oz Isopro fuel canisters. It fires up right away and will boil 500ml of water in 2 minutes without a problem.Taken on a four day, back country hike. Worked perfectly for my meal requirements ( my wife and I....Two cooked meals a day, plus some boiled water for tea and washing) Cleaned up without a hassle.I would recommend this stove as an alternative to the more pricey versions.

Fantastic little stove.
Love it, everything about it feels great. Cooks my beans in like 3 and a half minutes. Also very fuel efficient, so far I've cooked .5L of water & 5 cans of Stagg Chili on a 110g isobutane and it's still got some left. I can't comment on weight because I have no comparison and don't really care about that for my uses. Only flaw I could see is the handle is a little awkward to hold if you're trying to eat directly from the pot.

Excellent for the price
This is the perfect stove to take backcountry if you have an extra couple people with you. Used this for 7 days on a kayaking trip in Kejimkujik and still have gas left in my canister. Every morning we boiled enough water for 4 cups of coffee, followed by breakfast and supper uses. A brand name stove would be about 3 times the price with the same functionality

Great stove, convenient and easy usage
I have been looking for a budget option of the Jetboil so I purchased this stove and tried it out immediately. It is easy to assemble and use, it heats up food and water fairly quick. The stove comes with a more robust handle than what you can see on the pictures, which I am very glad about. I agree with another commentator, if you want to eat out of the pot, the fabric handle on the Jetboil is more convenient. However, I believe this convenience doesn't justify the price difference. Regarding the packing: the folding tank stabilizer and the bottom part fit nicely in the pot which is packed in a black mesh eventually.I had some bad luck with the first stove I received, the dents were not aligned properly with the cutout holes on the counterpart, therefore I couldn't assemble the top to the bottom. However, I returned it and I received the replacement the next day already which works just fine.I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Great boiler!!
Only used it a few times so far but very happy with it and the time it takes to boil the water. Not sure if they make them smaller but I wasn't able to fit the isobutane tank completely inside which would have helped to save some room in my pack. Can't really complain though for the product itself!
