I got detoured for a while with Tazo Awake - I don't know why, I think because I ran out of this and the local World Market closed. They aren't stocking this anymore anyway. Tazo used to be consistent, not completely exciting but a decent breakfast tea if the water is really hot and the tea is steeped well. As I said, not consistent anymore. One box will taste like twigs and the next just okay now. Probably riding on customer's previous buying habits and betting they won't notice a cheaper product.So, Amazon again and gratefully found this old friend. It is a consistent, strong black breakfast tea. Lovely and smooth and not to acidic tasting. I do like a strong cuppa and a full flavor black. It is not cloudy. If the water is boiling and not put in a cup that will loose heat, if I make the water less hot it is a lighter tea that is still pleasant. I like that some portion of it's profits go to Lifeboat rescue support. Lovely all the way around.Oh, and I do find that with really hot water, 1 bag will make a nice half pot (about 2 mugs). I found this in a store specializing in all sorts of products from all over the world and it has turned out to be the best thing I have ever bought from them.Lifeboat is not a ladies afternoon sipping tea. This tea has the sort of flavor that one can imagine bringing life back to a surviver of an accident at sea. A hearty, robust flavor that warms the bones as it pleases the palate. But not overpowering or bitter as many strong teas can be. Even when brewed badly, it makes a worthwhile cup of tea. It's even good when made through my drip coffee maker. But when the time and proper procedures are followed, it produces an extraordinary cup. I have even made sun tea served with ice in the summer. Iced tea is almost a religion here in Texas. And Lifeboat passes the test.All of my local sources have disappeared so now I get it off the web.If you want a tea to warm your bones on a chilly night. Or to just plain enjoy anytime, I highly recommend Lifeboat tea.
