This light is great. I'm so glad there is an on/off switch ...
This light is great. I'm so glad there is an on/off switch (as opposed to a key that would surely get lost). The light is very bright as soon as it detects motion, and the rest of the time gives a nice glow (it comes on automatically when it gets dark enough). I have recently purchased a motor coach and I'm getting ready to move into it. The light will make me feel that much more secure, knowing that anyone who might approach after dark will not be able to do it in stealth mode. Since I will be on the road a lot of the time, I decided to use industrial strength Velcro to mount the light, rather than the adhesive that was included. I'm sure the adhesive would have been sufficient but I wanted to be able to take the light off and keep it in the coach while I was driving. Nothing like having a motion-sensitive light shining brightly at every vehicle I pass on the road, since I'm likely to forget to turn it off! I have recommended the light to a friend who has had vandalism at her house... this is a light that can be used just about anywhere. No batteries to change, because it recharges every day, as long as there is sunshine. All in all, a good purchase.

Don't buy unless you've got full sun.
It needs full sunlight all day, or it won't last the night. It works with partial sun, but you get partial results. On a cloudy day it just really doesn't work. It puts out pretty good light at night if it's been exposed to enough sunlight.

I am just happy with them (16 months ago)... and now (16 months later)
Just awesome! I bought three of them. Working well! And great follow up by the seller!***Updated Review*** After 16 months later, one of the three I bought died last week. As a CPR, I cleaned the solar panel area and did reset but didn't work. I think here Southern California Summer Heat killed it. I wish I bought the 2 or 4 year-protection program. Anyhow, dying too soon is not good.BUT I just ordered a new one to replace the dead one because it is one of the best solar lights among others in the market, I think. I hope it lasts for long.

The size of the unit is pretty small. For the money
This light works as promised. I would, however, say it is "ideal", but it does the job giving some security to a dark back door. The size of the unit is pretty small. For the money, the only thing I would change is a more positive way to test if the motion detection is actually 'on' or 'off' when installing, there appears to be no way to determine if you have it correct until you wait till dark. Then if wrong - back up the ladder.

The Most Satisfactory Solar Sensor Lights I Have Found
I can't get enough of these motion sensor solar lights. I previously have purchased many of the 10 LED lights, about half for me, and others as gifts for those who have seen mine and really want them. This is my first experience with the 16-light version and I feel just as positively as with the others. For those who might not like trying to turn the units off and on with the tiny "key", this larger light has an on and off button. Before finding these lights, I purchased a whole collection of lights that did not do it all. 1) No fainter light to allow viewing the area before the brighter lights are triggered; 2) Sensored lights that responded to motion even during the day, depleting the batteries; 3) Lights that do not have the automatic turn on/off between dusk and dawn, requiring activation; etc! Also, these lights are quite easy to install. In the not-so-warm areas of the property, the adhesive alone has worked. I found, though, that adhesive did not suffice in warmer areas -- no problem, just screwed them to the fence, eaves, etc., with the provided screws. I can guarantee that I will be ordering more of these motion sensor lights in the future; for me and for gifts.

never receives direct sunlight as recommended in the instructions
I'm one of those who does not use this product as it was intended. It is mounted overhead at the recessed area of my front door. The light itself shines down and onto the front door. It also provides light for this entire recessed area. With the light facing the door, the sensor panel faces out towards the front yard, and therefore, never receives direct sunlight as recommended in the instructions. However, this setup WORKS FINE. The sensor panel receives more than enough sunlight during our usually partly cloudy to sunny days, for the light to remain lit the entire night. It even goes to bright mode when motion is detected. An exception to this stated observation was a recent 3 day period where the weather stayed gloomy and rainy. On the 3rd night, the light did not come on at all. It returned to normal operation once it started seeing daylight again. I am very pleased with the operation of this device and feel it performs well in spite of the unusual way I am using it. H.
