These curtains are made of thick, heavy fabric, with a black liner that completely blocks out light. I got white for my daughter's room, thinking that no matter what colors she paints her room in the future, they will match. The curtains are still a pretty white even with the black liner behind it. Because these were going in my baby daughter's room, I decided to wash them before hanging, and I'm so glad I did! Watch the video- the water is dark brown after just a little bit of agitation with my hands, and that is just one panel! The other panel was the same. Make sure to wash these when you receive them- I would never have known by looking at these out of the box that they were this dirty. I also put them in the dryer on low heat- there was the tiniest bit of discoloration, but I knew that was a risk because they are polyester. I was just too impatient to keep it on air only.I still would recommend these to anyone, and will likely buy more myself, with the caveat that they must be cleaned first. You don't want that hanging in your house.
