Bought this because of its braking feature. It works very well. Only issue I had was I wished they'd included a nylon lock nut or a second nut because sometimes the brake engaged before we wanted it to and cranking the load down caused the nut to loosen. But in terms of safety and durability, I'd buy it again.

Worked as expected. Used to replace the cranking mechanism on my jetski lift. This new winch has the braking function which doesn’t allow the lift to lower without cranking it down. Much better price than purchasing from lift manufacturer.

I used this winch to enable a homemade boat lift. I use it on the front end of a 200 lb fishing boat. It is a replacement and works much better than the original. Even the winch I use on the rear of the boat (diff brand)is a struggle to use. I can operate this one easily with one finger.

I use this to lower the keel on my sailboat. The old one lasted 15 years but became very hard to use (especially when lowering). This was an exact replacement and operates very smoothly. Should have replaced my old one 5 years ago.

The winch product works very well in our application. The problem is the delivery of the winch. I ordered 10 winches, received 9 winches over several days and I am still waiting for winch #4 of 10. Bad delivery service.

It was easy to install, only one hole to line up and drill. No stretch or looseness anywhere. Very easy to use. The most important: good, old manufacturing company and made in the USA. Very good product.

This is the same part number as the one on my Gloucester 16 sailboat for lifting the keel. The new one has longer bolts on the side so I had to drill holes to clear them to fit the boat. Once installed feels smooth and the clutch stops the load when you stop winding the handle. No free wheeling of the load.

This winch is designed to be one hand operated, no second hand needed to switch the latch under heavy load like it is in regular hand operated winch. Works very smoothly, is well built and has increased inner drum diameter which helps greatly if choice is to use steel cable like in my case. I use it now for lifting/lowering swing keel in my sailboat and promptly installed this winch after crank of my old regular winch slipped off my hand and wildly turning, almost broke my fingers. This winch will serve me for a long time, I am sure.
