Massive amounts of space, really nice build quality. Please do refer to the manual online.
What can I say about this case, other than "What have I done?" LOL. This case is an absolute unit, if you have kids and another on the way, you could probably use this as a nursery for them, haha. All joking aside, I can honestly say this is a solid case, plenty of configuration options for customising, I had mine set to Storage configuration within about 40mins. Admittedly, it was a bit daunting where to start but after a quick gander at the manual (not included, you have to get it from Fractals website, 60 page PDF), it started to make sense what goes where and why. Make sure you have plenty of room to work with, this is not really a bang it together on a kitchen worktop type of case, better to give yourself plenty of room to work with. This will be getting used for a planned home NAS/server setup, at the moment, this is the only part I have bought for it, so I can't comment on motherboard fitting etc. But from what I can see, that's not going to be a problem, believe it alos has room/support for ATX and defo looks like it. There's plenty of holes and cutouts for pretty much every cable you'd need or for a water cooling setup. Not sure about the 3 x included Fracyal fans, I've never used them before but having a look online shows they might be a bit poor for taste, some have recommended Noctura NF-14 redux and others Arctic P14s (cheaper but seem to get good reviews). Comes with 2 x HDD cages that have 2 HDD trays each and the accessory kit included also has 2 trays, a 5.25 cage mount for optical drives in the 2 top bays and an extra top panel for more fans/radiator/airflow. Absolutely a great buy if your needing lots of space and drive bay potential, i would say the only downsides are there is no manual included (not a biggie, just inconvenient) and that there are only two 3.5 inch trays provided for more disks (excluding the 2 cages at the bottom, which also have trays). Very good build quality, I was worried about the trays as they look flimsy but they are pretty solid when fitted and screwed in. The HDD cages at the bottom do make a bit of a rattle when the empty case is moved around, that may be sorted when disk are installed or maybe just adding a bit of diy cushioning. Anyway, if the wife kicks you oot and files for divorce after buying this absolute monolith, at least you'll have somewhere to live while waiting for the homeless team to get you a place to live :)

Spacious, quiet, quality case
Case is top quality and easily worth the (discounted) price I paid, though even full price I'd say it's a good buy. Loads of room inside and very easy to configure the case how you want. Everything is well laid out and labelled with a good array of ports and additional controller for extra case fans. With the sound dampened panels in place I can barely hear fan noise from the case at all. Only disappointment was that I couldn't quite fit in my 5.25" blu-ray drives, but that's my fault for buying a 360mm radiator - I should have gone with a 280mm and it wouldn't have been an issue.

A beast of a case... a lovely beast
This case is a beast! The build quality is excellent and the case looks great, even if it's humoungous. As far as cooling capability, I currently have 7 140mm PWM fans installed in mine, ensuring that the components in my server, which include SAS drives, have ample airflow. The modular nature of the case also means that, if my needs change and I need to swiitch from the storage layout (where I currently have 12 hard drives installed) to a different layout, it's easy to remove drive trays, which are reusable in other Fractal Design cases I have. In my opinion, it's well worth the money.

Great Case for either Server or Water Cooled Systems.
This case is HUGE, very heavy and well-made. It offers lots of options for different uses but the manual is nearly useless when it comes to changing layouts thankfully there are some good videos on youtube which help in this regard. With so much space there are lots of channels for cable management and velcro straps make this task changeable. Be aware that you may need to purchase extension cables for the CPU power connector (8-pin etc) but these can be purchased for a reasonable price. As for price while I think the case itself is worth the price BUT the extra parts like the drive cages and trays are in my opinion overpriced and added to the cost, for example, I am using mine as a server in storage mode I needed to purchase an extra 12 drive trays which average out at £10 each (there are 4 pre-installed and an extra 2 trays provided), this with extra fans has brought the real price to about £450 but with the quality of the case, I expect it to last me for many years.

Solid
Hard to ever justify a premium case generally but this is a HUGE case with plenty of options for cooling, expansion and customisation. It is also well sound insulated.

A very good case
A good size case and for the most part easy to build in. The only tricky part was swapping the layout to the storage layout but after reading the manual and watching a video on the fractual youtube channel I was able to see what I was doing wrong and got it to work.

Excellent quality.
Excellent quality case, plenty of room for 2 x 360/420 radiators and motherboard fully accessible.

If you look at one of my attached photos you will see two 16TB standard hard drives; two 8TB standard hard drives; a couple of NVME SSD's (4TB and 2TB); and 12 SSD drives of various sizes. My Garmin watch is attached to transfer my fitness data and it shows up as device D. Anyway, all the hard drives, SSD's and NVME SSD's are tucked away just fine inside this case. I do a lot of photography/video so I have an additional 48TB (six 8TB standard hard drives) tucked away in the upstairs closet. This case is designed to handle numerous drive configuration and does so exceptionally. Still a lot of cables but under the circumstances I think the appearance is great. A VERY HEAVY CASE (Steel Construction) but once in place, who cares? My only negative (a very small one) is there is a POWER L.E.D. on the case, but no HD ACTIVITY L.E.D. Sometimes I want to know if something is going on -- especially if what I am doing appears to be taking much longer then I expected. I will include FRACTAL's reply to this issue, but I just had a real-life experience where knowing there was something going on would have been beneficial. I just downloaded Microsoft Flight Simulator which was released last week. If you have seen articles about the download (once the game was released) many buyers were concerned about the length of time of the download, etc. Often they could not tell if the download was doing anything. I too wondered if the download was working. IT WAS A HUGE DOWNLOAD and install process. It would have been nice if I had a HDD ACTIVITY L.E.D. to let me know something is going on and data is being downloaded and written to my 4TB NVME PCI 4 SSD. Anyway, this is a great case and for the price worth every penny. Quality construction; well designed internal layout; multiple cooling fans; parts and materials packaged well; manual well written; etc. Lastly, here is FRACTAL's reply to my inquiry about the lack of the HDD L.E.D. Hello, The Define 7 XL does not have a Hard Drive activity light. The Define series was originally made to be a media center PC, but the product developers thought it would be annoying to have a light flashing while you are trying to enjoy a movie. It was added to the Define R5 and R6 but we decided to remove it again for the Define 7 cases, as it seems to be waning in popularity these days. So we decided just to have the power LED and if someone wanted to have the HDD LED they could plug the power LED connectors into the HDD LED pins on their motherboard and use their power LED as their HDD LED, because the HDD LED wouldn't flicker if there wasn't any power provided to the system. If you have anymore questions or concerns feel free to ask. Best Regards, Shane UPDATE 08/2/2021 Since I first built the computer I was referencing in my original post, I have changed the motherboard, et al. I now have 2 Sabrent NVME PCie 4 drives; 3 HDD - Two 16GB drives and Two 8GB drives; and 8 SSD drives from 4TB down to 1TB. None of these changes impacts my opinion of this case - it is fantastic.

Reichlich Platz, auch für 480mm WK. (Oben). WK vorne geht auch, aber darunter "leidet" der Luftstrom und der untere Käfig muß geöffnet (erweitert) werden. Top Produkt.!

Just finished a server build in the Define 7 XL. Fantastic case to build in, you can tell a huge amount of thought went into flexibility and compatibility. Modern 2025 cases from what I know are very aesthetic and are innovating, especially in airflow and fan/rad mounting. However, this case is insanely compatible and flexible and, if not supported, a little MacGuyvering could get just about any amount of PC components into this chassis. Even with an extended motherboard, loads of drives, SSDs, add in cards, an AIO, an extended PSU, and cabling to support all of these peripherals, the case feels roomy and airy. All of the exterior parts, top, sides, dust filters snap together in a really satisfying way and the (mostly) tool-less design makes building a breeze because you can just get to the build and don't have to work "around" the case. Excellent cable management with built-in velcro ties. Built-in fan controller adds lots of flexibility and 3 included 140MM fans are a nice to have, especially considering fractal's big fans are so quiet and reliable. Removable PSU mount gives me the flexbility to add my PSU and plug everything in and test before committing to mounting it. Alternatively, I can now 3D print a SFX or smaller PSU adapter for dual PSUs or just because. I have to really stretch to find any nitpicks with this case, truly. If I had to say *something* I would say the hole behind the motherboard tray could be a bit bigger (or shifted) in case you make the timeless mistake of forgetting to mount the CPU cooler backplate. My threadripper motherboard's CPU socket did not line up with this hole in the mobo tray although it is already pretty large. however, this is a nitpick I have to search to find since that wasn't even an issue for my build. 10/10 case - the sound material, quit built in fans, airflow, and build quality made for a whisper quiet server chock full of components and it's not even halfway full. I like this case even more than my beloved Fractal Node 804, though they have slightly different use cases.

Needed a case which can fit a whole lot of hard disk for my NAS, and this fits the bill. Certain things about it aren't as good as my Define R5, but I can see why they made those decisions, as this is a case which can have its purpose changed easily for different use case. Props to the seller too who went above and beyond in ensuring this case with its super large box was able to be shipped to me!
