Amazing camera
This is an amazing camera. I own another but it was damaged in a car crash. These are quite heavy, so if you are petite or looking to carry this around, be sure to have a tripod or you are strong enough. There is NOTHING like Nikon optics. You and your family will be amazed at the shots you can get. I have won many photo contests with the same camera.

Point and Shoot Camera that makes dslr users envious
I love the Nikon P1000 camera!! One of my favorite features is the Exposure Ring on the outside of the camera near the lens. You can adjust it as you are preparing to take the picture, so you know what the picture's exposure will look like before you take the picture. The zoom is incredible on this camera. The lens comes way out. Extended all the way, the camera can be a bit shaky, but I can still manage to get very clear pictures. I have gotten more compliments from people (including DSLR users) on this camera than I have any other. As they look over my shoulder, and see how far the camera will zoom, and the clarity of the picture on the screen, they share their amazement with me. It is a bit heavier than most point and shoot cameras, but you adjust. Another feature I like, is the birdwatcher setting. When I use that setting, the camera focuses on a much smaller area, so that I can focus on the birds, rather than everything that is around them. I am on my second P1000, because I literally wore the other one out. I Take literally thousands of pictures a year, and love the pictures I have been getting with the Nikon P1000. I bought my second one from Green's Camera World, and they gave me a whole lot of extras, for the same price as I paid for only the camera elsewhere. So, now I have a lot of gadgets that I did not have before!!

Excellent retailer and camera!
I ordered this on July 9 and received it on July 14 via UPS from Green's Camera World. Everything was included and it was very well packaged. All the extras are of very good quality. The warranty was also included. It feels like Christmas!

Amazing Zoom
Wow! I took some pictures of some bears a little over a mile away in heavy smoke and it is still a good picture. Positives are amazing zoom. Down side is heavy to hold for long periods and need a tripod for long distance shots. Overall. LOVE IT.

Do NOT buy Nikon P1000
I was excited about the incredible zoom on the Nikon Coolpix P1000, but very disappointed with the camera. It kept freezing up. I tried every suggestion made to only use fully charged Nikon batteries and get a larger fast read/write SD card but nothing worked. After much research I found this is a problem with the P1000 and Nikon has no fix for it. In fact this model has been discontinued and no longer available. DO NOT BUY THE NIKON P1000. You will be very disappointed.
