Good solution
This outdoor protective box works well. This is the third box that Iโve bought for different areas around my property. The first one I bought was many years ago and it still functions perfectly. Great product if you have limited outlets, but need additional because you have more power needs than just two plugs. Keeps everything dry and safe. Highly recommend.

Seems a Bit Sturdier Than Competitor's Product: Has Domed Lid to Help Shed Water
Bought this for outdoor Christmas light display. Seems like a pretty heavy-gauge plastic and the lid goes over a flange on the lower section, so that also helps with the water resistance. This lid is domed so that is going to help shed water (unlike the competitor's that has a dished lid). The only slightly tricky part is that there is a narrow piece that you have to lift off to get access to the holed for the electrical cords: you have to pull a tab on each side of this piece to get it to release & and this piece only goes back in one way (the flange is off-set). When I opened the box after it being outdoors for month, there was no water or condensation inside. Only complaints were that the instruction sheet could have been a little clearer and it seems a bit over-priced.

Heavy duty and roomy outdoor protective box
I bought this box to protect a plug connector from the elements where I have two outdoor extension cords temporarily plugged into a shorter outdoor cord providing power. I included a WiFi switch so that I could remotely turn the power on and off to the two extension cords. This box is of heavy gauge plastic and seems to be quite sturdy. There is a rubber gasket around the lid to make it weather tight when closed. Also, there are gaskets that press against the top and bottom of any cords that you have running into the box (I have three - there are openings for five). There are tabs on the inside that hold any cords in place as they run through the holes. A nicely engineered detail! The dimensions given on the web site are accurate. This will keep the weather away from my temporary connections and I am very satisfied with the quality of the box.

Kept my connections bone dry all season.
Got this to protect a junction of 4 inflatible Christmas decorations and a laser light projector I was placing m the center of my yard. From the house, an extension cable ran in to this to a outlet strip and all the decorations plugged in to that. It's rather spacious inside. The strip (along with its 3ft. length of cord, extension cord end, and the 5 decoration plugs (the kind with the small "box" plugs on the end) all fit just fine. The box's hinge is on one of the short sides and the protected cord holes are centered on a long side. There are 5 openings, each large enough to fit one heavy duty extension cord sized cord. There are also a few scored areas on the sides that you could punch out to fit larger cords or maybe even a small junction into, but they aren't protected from the elements so you'd be responsible for waterproofing them. You open the box and remove the top half of the rubberized protective shield. Place your cords into the (half)holes and replace the top half by snapping it back in to its slot. The rubber flexes around the cords from both sides, creating a tight seal around them. Then you close the actual box and snap the lever closed. Your electricals are now safe. The box has slots on the outside to mount to a wall but I placed it on a flat surface, as was suggested, on the ground in the center of the decorations in the middle of my yard and didn't touch it for about a month. We endured quite a few very heavy, windy thunderstorms during this time and when I opened it up it was bone dry inside. This is exactly what I was looking for. It allowed me to connect multiple decorations together out in the elements and kept them dry the whole season.

A MUST have, even if pricy, got to get it.
I use these with cheap routers to get wifi all over my large yard, and it works great. I just drill holes for the router antennas and add some silicone. Very sturdy, and I feel confident no water gets into it. If there was a way for me to make something from scratch for half as much money, the time doing it etc... wouldn't be worth it, this is very well made, just bite the bullet and buy it for peace of mind.

Great boxes
These are great boxes for outside Xmas lighting. I put an Alexa enabled outlet plug into the box with an outlet strip to control a section of Xmas lighting. I have a few of these. Much better to deal with compared to the other brand / model on Amazon. These boxes have a cable / entrance section that keeps the cables locked in when the cover is opened. The other, it's built into the cover, and when you open the cover the cords all come out. These boxes have a great latch that is easy to use. The other brand used clips, one on each end. They tend to come out of their position on the box when loosening from the cover. And are a pain These boxes have one latch that is smooth and easy to use and lockable.. if you want so you can keep honest people fingers out. Of course a rock or hammer would be a generic key since it's all plastic. If your using smart home modules (rf) in the box. The other brand has a cover that captures water and ice. Causing attenuation of the RF signal. These boxes she'd water off of the lid. Great boxes.

Item would not accommodate larger gauge extension cords..
Good item, but had to remove the rubber seals intended to weather-proof wire entry to accommodate larger gauge extension cords. Shutting the access panel on the larger cords warped the access panel voiding the weather-proof seal. Caulked the box and the wire access. So far, so good. Waiting for a gully washer of a rain to make final accessment.
