Less a compression wrap, more an IR pad.
There's no real compression here as the material has quite a bit of give and you probably wouldn't want to jam the stones into your knees anyway. But, it works wonderfully to get the heat into your knee and keep everything in place during your session. There's a timer with 15, 30, and 60 minute segments and then the power button that cycles through low, medium, high, and off, so very simple to operate. High only draws 14w too, so no concerns on power circuit loading. I do find anything more than about 5 min on high is too much, but medium you can do a full session.

Effective Far Infrared Heating Pad
This Far-IR pad has been much more effective than my old, traditional heating pad. For months, following a partial menisectomy, I had knee discomfort, and nothing I did seemed to cure that. However, extended, daily use of this heating pad has done wonders for my knee -- likely by increasing circulation to the poorly-oxygenated meniscal area. Since traditional heating pads mostly heat the skin externally, they don't work as well as this Far-IR pad, which penetrates more deeply. The company, UTK, has excellent and responsive customer service. My first heating pad stopped working after six months of use. They provided a replacement to me within days of my contacting them. Since I've used it so much, there are a couple of things I've found I would like for future versions of the product: 1. It would be nice if it came with a washable sleeve or cloth to put between the pad and the skin. Not only can the jade stones can get quite hot (depending on the temperature setting), but it makes it easier to keep the pad clean if it's not in direct contact with the skin (after all, you can't just throw the pad in the washer since it's electronic). 2. It would be nice if the pad or jade stones could be oriented vertically if the user wishes. Currently, the stones run in two rows, one above the kneecap and one below when the pad is attached (see the product picture), but it might be more effective for medial meniscus tears if the stones were oriented vertically, meaning that they run up and down the side of the knee, rather than at the top and bottom. It's possible to orient the pad that way, but the Velcro straps don't fasten properly in the vertical (up/down) position -- they are designed to only fasten horizontally around the knee.

Pleasant surprise !!
So I tore the outer right miniscus of my knee a few months ago and icing it was not providing enough relief. Purchased this as a "what could it hurt to try" effort and it has been great. It does not provide heat for the entire diameter surface of the knee, but you can hit a good area and then rotate the heat. The timer and heat levels are neat features. The wire is long enough to give you some play, it generates a good amount of heat, so ultimately it provided some much needed short term relief. This purchase has been a pleasant surprise.

Nice Product
Easy to use. Good quality. Very comfortable when on. There are 3 attached straps. They are stretchy and 2 are extra long, so they will fit plus sized, which I am. They Velcro around your knee. It has 3 heat and 3 timer settings. It’s very thin, so you can take it anywhere you need. I’m not sure if the red light therapy is helping yet, I haven’t been consistent with with it, but I can say, it feels good using it, and it does feel a bit better after using it.

Doesn't work as described
Worked fine the first 2 times. Now barely reaches a warm temperature not beneficial at all. Wished I had taken the low reviews into consideration.

Fixed My Cold Knee First Use
I purchased a larger UTK pad and it fixed my muscles. I knew this method works, so I tried to adapt it to a knee, which did not work. So glad I purchased this one specifically for the knee. Absolutely wonderful!!! Fits my knee perfectly, and the design looks perfect for any knee. And it is small enough to carry anywhere!!! Love the timer, because I can sleep during treatments. Someone mentioned an odor, which was not much, and went away after removing it from the plastic bag. Thanks so much for this life saver of a product!!!

Only good for 3 months
I really liked this...when it worked. From the beginning, it was always spotty on whether or not it would actually heat up. Sometimes I would have to unplug and replug some of the connections. But when it worked, I definitely felt it and my knee felt noticeably "warmed up" after. However, 3 months into usage it has stopped working entirely. I wish I still had this for my knee rehab!

Heats well, easy to use
First off the material does smell. First few times I used it I wore a face mask to cut down on bothersome vapors. I also wrapped a towel loosely around it to trap the stink. And I never have pad directly on my skin. Over time, the smell lessens so I'm no longer wearing a face mask but still wrapping the towel around to trap the fumes. As for heating, yes it heats very well. I think it is a fuller more satisfying heat vs regular heating pad. It works fine so far but I have used it only 6 times in less than 3 months. I am not convinced it did anything miraculous for my knee but the heat felt good. Product wraps easily and stays in place. Controls easy to use.
