Much more inclusive and broad reaching than the title would infer. So wonderfully written and presented appealing to the non academic as well. If there is presumption in there it is humble and irrelevant.

Judith Butler has been saying the same thing for well over a decade, and this is just the latest rehashing of her arguments. There isn't anything compelling in here. If you have never read Butler, this is worth a read. If you have read anything she has written since 2000, you can probably infer everything she says in here.

This is a moving and lucid book, complex and timely.

Really helpful for a presentation I did at university. Some really interesting concepts of performativity here.

This book is beautifully composed and a breath of fresh air at times where any form of dissent is understood as gross betrayal. I would say in this book Judith Butler brings the ethical and political to a fruitful conversation. A great philosophical meditation.
