STAUB Ceramics Dutch Oven 16-oz Petite Tomato Cocotte, Cherry

These are beautiful, darling, perfect for single-serve casseroles. They are ceramic, not enameled cast-iron like the larger Staub tomato cocottes. But they are nicely detailed and just as gorgeous. The stem end is very well done. These come packed just as well as Staub's cast-iron larger pieces. We go through a lot of tomatoes during the summertime, right from our garden. So this purchase was easily justified in our budget. We like a simple casserole of sliced zucchini, yellow squash and tomatoes on a bed of sauteed onion with a bread crumb and cheese topping. These, when not filled to the top, are just right for a large one-person serving. They are a good size for other bowl food, too. Sometimes we do baked beans in one of these, and it serves two. I was surprised to stumble across these on Amazon, and at a great price, too. I usually find my Staub pieces on other online sites. But, hey, look close and you will see it is available with Prime shipping on this product page! And I was worried about how the stem knob would travel, and was happy to rely on Amazon's return policy. But the stem is not fragile and these arrived in perfect shape. I also have the tomato in the larger cast-iron piece and the three sitting together on a shelf are impressive, (even though I have the larger piece in the fabulous grenadine color).

This is the all ceramic version. I love it. Beautiful dark green color. I got it to leave on my counter, I use to keep butter in as I like having soft butter available at all times and we use it up fast enough that it never goes bad so I don’t find the need for an actual butter crock (which need water and you have to smash the butter into. This is perfect to drop a cube in, get into easily to use, and is also easy to clean. I have the pumpkin version that I use for the same purpose in the fall. Love them both

Super cute ceramic lidded tomato. Just as pictured and described. It’s the perfect size for a summer dip or some salsa! A must for tomato lovers.

The quality is very good and it looks lovely. It's great to serve dips, olives, etc. or individual portions. It also is a pretty decorative item to display in the kitchen and to store small items or use a sugar bowl or anything you use daily.

I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize this was such a small dish, but I truly love it. It's beautiful and is perfect for creating a tailored portion, which is really helpful for me, because I have a tendency to make too much for my household. The only reason I took one star off is not because I wasn't paying attention to what it's size would be, but because it isn't as versatile as something bigger would be. But it will be perfect for the brunch I am hosting in a few weeks to hold dip and/or a peasant salad to share. Love it.

I love Staub cocottes in general. This is an interesting novelty item that looks very festive. The workmanship is great as well, and as it is ceramic, can be used for baking in the oven. I have also bought other cocottes including the artichoke, capsicum and pumpkin. Will repurchase again!
