New Rain-X 820151 WeatherBeater Wiper Blades on my 1991 Dodge D150 pickup kept coming loose after less than one minute of use. The plastic retainer clip appears to be designed to fit multiple different vehicles, but it doesn’t fit my 1991 Dodge D150. The bayonet pin on the wiper arm is thicker on each end than in the middle. The retainer clip of Rain-X 820151 WeatherBeater Wiper Blade 18" fits across the wider portion of the bayonet pin instead of in the thinner part near the middle of the pin that would allow the clip to lock the wiper onto the wiper arm.. I took the wipers off and verified that I had followed the instructions on the package before taping the clips shut with electrical tape and placing two zip ties on each wiper to hold the clips in place. I have used Rain-X products, including their wipers, for many on my vehicles, and have been well pleased, but these didn't fit my old truck. This was on the screen when I listed my vehicle specs on the Amazon page, "Amazonconfirmedfit✓ This fits 1991 Dodge D-150." There is a popup that appears only if you click on a little icon for information. Inside the popup it says, "This product only fits if the following criteria are met" followed by the words "Position" and "Front." I just found that there is a little slider along the right side of the popup, that when you slide it all the way down, has these words, "9X3 Hook; Blade Length 18 " Left and 18" Right" Lessons learned: always slide the slider and be skeptical when sentences are not used.

I have tried just about every mid tier wiper blade on the market. I stick with the name brands. That being said there may be some of the off brands that match the value but its hard enough choosing between the well known brands so i dont bother with the off brands. This blade is cheap and i often find it for half price or less through amazon resale. Great "like new" used pricing but it is a roll of the dice if it has been properly inspected. Assuming it has its a super value. Easier than most to install. The metal frame is perfect for a flat or semi flat windshield but not so much for a severe contour. Have never ever had one fail before it wore out. It stays streak free till its not. I dont have that annoying "its good enough" stage which i like. Overall if someone asked me what is the best blade for the lowest cost nothing comes close to the weather beater wiper blade. If you are looking for the absoluter premium top of the line blade, keep looking. If you dont like wasting money on wiper blades, check out amazon resale and you will find a full set for less than ten bucks.

Buying these "wiper blades" was the first time I've replaced blades on a modern car with this particular system of blade design. On my earlier cars it was just a long thin strip of rubber that (sometimes with two thin strips of steel support down each side) that one would reply. I was suspicious at the whole idea of needing to reply a the entire metal blade holder just to get new wipers. In my ignorance I ordered these new Rain-X "blades". I'm happy with the new blades, in that they perfectly, no noice, perfectly remove the water, etc. I can't comment on the longevity, as I've only had them on a few days. BUT HERE'S THE CATCH. This is daylight robbery. It's a huge waste of money and resources. How on Earth did the automotive industry get away with making car owners replace the entire blade holder (which is very solidly made out of steal), which is perfectly fine, just to get a tiny little strip of new rubber? It's the equivalent of having to change the entire wheel (hub and all) every time you need a new tire. That would never be acceptable. After cringing at the fact I was now the owner of wasteful and expensive wiper blade arms / holders that have little purpose except to go into landfill, I did some digging around. Yes, thankfully, It is possible to buy just the rubber (or silicone) strip, and install it into an existing blade arm / holder. One option I see here on Amazon goes for around AU$22 for 4 (https://amzn.to/460FYe6). They are referred to as "wiper REFILLS". Failing to put "refill" into the search will likely result in only seeing expensive full blade and blade holder replacements like this product from Rain-X. Welcome to the world of car part scams and cons, for the ignorant (as I was).
