Every KEEN product is Consciously Created to help leave the planet better than we found it. Review: Most versatile, sturdy and functional hiking shoes ever - I love Keen brand hiking shoes and have been wearing them for years. Finally taking the time after having this pair for quite a while to review how they have stood the test of time, with heavy daily use, and very treacherous and adverse weather conditions. They keep me steady on my feet, keep my feet dry, keep my arches supported and I always have good traction even under muddy weather conditions. Even though they are waterproof, they are still breathable and they don't leave you with stinky feet. The color varieties are very nice but I really like the subtlety of this particular color combo. The sole is so great on gravel and in hiking. They're easy to clean with just a damp microfiber cloth and they still look pretty good after all this time. Oh and I'm a woman who occasionally buys men's hiking boots because I like the wider toe box, so if you're a size 10 in women's, a size 9 in men's fits perfectly. Don't get the 8.5, get the extra half a size in this brand... and you will thank me later. After trying Merrell, Oboz, Timberland, Columbia, and Nortiv8 in the last few years, I always come back to Keen. I don't think I can be the comfort and foot feel, as well as the quality that has stood the test of time. Well worth every dollar! Review: They wear incredibly good. - Buy a pair every Christmas for our son. He loves them, the only one he ask for and they wear incredibly good.

Comfortable shoes, good customer support, happy ending
Edit 2: the seller gave me the choice of a refund or a replacement and I gladly took the replacement. The shipment was ahead of schedule and fit just as comfortably as my first pair. The treads feel solidly glue in place and I'm confident that these ones will last the year at least. Very happy with the outcome even if it took some time. Edit: the seller has reached back out to me and we are working towards a resolution. Once the replacements arrive I'll happily give 5 stars since the shoes are great. First off, these are some of the most comfortable shoes Ive owned. I loved them for the first 3 months. I bought these shoes for disc golfing and only wear them on the course. They get maybe 3-4 hours of wear a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. After about 3 months I noticed one of the treads under the ball of my foot was coming loose from the sole. Shortly after, my other shoe had the same issue. I don't wear these shoes too often and I've had them a very short amount of time. I reached out to the seller to try and get a resolution but the seller stopped messaging back without an explanation or reason. These shoes are now a tripping hazard getting caught on rocks and roots. The Adidas terrex shoes are slightly less comfortable, but last much longer and are cheaper. It's a shame because these shoes are really very comfortable, but for $130 I expect to be able to wear them for at least a year.

Surprised by comfort!
*** Update I've put about 200-250 hiking miles on these shoes since this review. The shoes are great on my feet but I am removing one star because of the heel lining. As you can see from the photo the liner fabric at the heal is tearing. In my opinion this is not good after so few miles. I still like the fit but I do wish the lining was more durable as this will reduce the life of the shoe significantly. I started backpacking about 5 years ago and have had nothing but trouble with hiking shoes. I've changed brands, sizes, socks, etc. but have never found a shoe that was comfortable. That changed when I bought these Keens a few months back. I've got about 300 miles of backpacking on them now including a recent 30 mile section hike on the AT. I can honestly say these Keens were amazing. Before a lot of my focus while hiking was how to minimize discomfort with my shoes going up and down steep and long terrain. I barely paid attention to my Keens other than to tell others how satisfied I was with my new shoes.

Feel great
They are well made and very comfortable. The arch support is perfect for me. Quality so far is excellent. I was a little disappointed by the cost but got tired of returning other shoes that weren't comfortable.

The best walking hiking shoe I’ve ever bought (& I’m 70!)
Will never buy another brand. I bought these because the price was good as were the reviews. I needed a solid shoe as I would be doing walking excursions in Alaska & Iceland. The shoe needed to be solid, slip-proof & not heavy. I’ve owned this pair for nearly a year; the maker needs to be praised & thanked for making such high-quality shoe and selling it at a fair price. I also use them for my daily hour-long walks, on cruise ships to walk the promenade (often wet), on a glacier (definitely wet), on desert sand (never wet), on muddy fields & even in my garden. My recommendation would be to buy 1/2 size larger. I returned my first pair because of the tight fit but the 1/2 size bigger pair I replaced it with has been perfect (especially with thicker walking socks or fluffy wool socks). I’m thinking of buying another pair just to have them in my closet when the tread on my current pair wears down (and become unsafe). But after nearly a year, the tread remains in good condition. I’ve never ever returned to my Amazon account to submit such a raving review of a purchased product after heavy use. I had initially purchased these shoes to wear on cruise excursions in Alaska & Iceiand & for my daily walks in Miami. Exceptional product.

Heavy and Clumsy but Fantastically Comfortable and Durable
I bought these with the idea of waterproof hikers. They fit really good and are comfortable to wear but the big problem is they are really really heavy, almost as heavy as the Old School Danner hiking boots. So I’m not thrilled with these and will probably replace with nice light Merrill Moab’s - just too heavy to be practical. Plus with the wide toe box they are clumsy to wear, almost like wearing snowshoes. Update as of March, 2026. I have grown to absolutely love my Keene Targhee 3 hiking shoes. I have worn them everyday for the past 2 years and they are my favorite DO EVERYTHING SHOE. they are extremely comfortable, show almost no sign of wear, and are remarkably waterproof. My new favorite all-time shoe. I’ve gotten used to the weight and don’t even notice it anymore. I highly recommend these shoes!

A very sturdy shoe which provides good support.
A good shoe that I am glad I bought. I used it on the pilgrimage route in northern Spain. A very sturdy shoe which provides good support. This shoe will last one a long time.

Very comfortable, very dangerous
Despite being one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever had, they are so very slippery in the wet condition.
