smells horrible but leaves skin flawless!!
Thank you Amazon for bringing these amazing items into my life. I am hooked on Japanese products Korean products and now this wonderful Moroccan black soap. I used this with my clarisonic and got amazing results. I have to say though the smell is not so great but there are 4 ingredients in this and no fragrance sooo I love that. I have acne prone skin. I spent most of my life in the sun. I surf and lived in Florida so my skin was pretty damaged. Now I reversed the damage and now this is a staple in my anti aging acne prone skin regime. How did I ever live without this?? I used this on my face knees and elbows and omg just pure silky softness. I just received this yesterday and am sooo happy. I am achieving the skin I always dreamed about. I also notice a little bit goes a long long way. I got the Argan oil one. I use Argan oil in my hair or coconut oil. Depends on the day :-) Now Argan oil on my face too. I love it!! I got a beautiful pinky glow after using this and it stayed that way today. Also the few blemishes I had are gone :-) You have to try this. Yes it smells and looks like tar but what matters is what it does. I give myself glycolic and acid peels. This is a wonderful product to use in between for that fresh glow. All natural paraben free and not tested on animals just another plus. No wonder Moroccan women have such beautiful skin. They use this!! I am done with American products unless they are formulated by recipes by other countries. I had a mild breakout from using coconut oil on my face. I am one of the rare people that coconut oil made me breakout:( this cleared it right up. I couldn't be happier. I will be purchasing again and again. Also now that I fixed my face I will always wear sunblock and spray tan ONLY!! I highly recommend this to everyone. Dont be put off by the smell!! Well time to roller derm put on my Japanese collagen mask and be plumped up for the weekend :-)

Beautiful, Unusual, and Critical Product in My Routine
I bought this soap to use with a Korean exfoliating mitt per someone else's review (pre-tanning). It's now December, and I am almost at the end of my first tub of this product--if that puts longevity in perspective. A tiny dollop of this black soap goes a very long way. I have never used a soap quite like this before, and so it's difficult to describe my experience with it, but I'll try: - I love that it doesn't smell like anything but clean--almost volcanic or elemental, earth-like. It's utterly un-artificial, and I am sensitive to everything. EVERYTHING. Paradoxically, it does have its own smell that is delightful, almost like a clean rock you might pull out of a river, if that makes sense. -the soap does a very good job of exfoliating with a Korean mitt, as promised. You will be clean as new and ready for tanning, if you go that route. -I use this soap all the time as my regular in-shower cleanser, with a puff or big sponge. It leaves my skin extremely smooth, but not dry in any way. -I have used this on my face periodically (and sparingly). I occasionally get a large, cystic (underground) bit of hormonal acne, and this is very helpful in addressing the whole face without stripping it. Also, it doesn't aggravate my very sensitive skin. However, I would use this as you would a mask--not every day. Thank you for this delightful product!

Working well with a kessa for facial exfoliation, so far
So, it might be helpful if I explain why I chose to purchase this black soap: I am a huge fan of the Baiden Mitten Baiden Mitten Superior Exfoliator Glove,Facial, Body Scrub,Best Firming Dry Skin Treatment,Repair Wrinkles Remove Blackheads Scars,Professional Grade which is a hand-woven kessa cloth that I feel provides the right texture for effective exfoliation. But it lasted just two years, and it's pretty pricey, so I began looking for cheaper alternatives, and discovered several on Amazon. The issue I had consistently with almost all of them was that my skin, at least on my face, seemed too slippery to get a good exfoliation, and I'd notice dry skin days after I used my cloths. So, I did some research into how it is usually done culturally, and stumbled onto the Moroccan process of using black soap to clarify and prepare the skin for exfoliation. I may be wrong, but from what I figure, black soap essentially works as a gentle cleanser—it's natural for the most part—to remove excess oil. I learned that you should leave it on for 10 minutes before you gently rinse of and begin exfoliation with a kessa. I like the texture of the soap and I think it does a good job. I use it only once a week before I rinse off and use my kessa, and follow up, after a light pat dry, with a heavy slather of coconut oil. I think the black soap with argan essentially works to soothe the skin because I don't feel the tightness I would feel if I used my cleanser with salicylic acid to prep my skin. Glad I tried it, happy that it's natural for the most part and has no fragrance, and even happier that a little goes such a long way.

Perfect for flawless skin
I tan a lot and need a great exfoliator to keep my skin fresh and new and this stuff is amazing! For my best tan, I take a bath with LUSH bath bombs and soak for a good 45 minutes (indulgence is key), then I wash with a loofah (to get the dirty bath water off) prior to applying a Zakia's Moroccan Black Soap and lathering it up. And then, the magic! I softly exfoliate using the Kessa glove and the dead skin just falls right off. It makes shaving a breeze and your skin look flawless. **MAKE SURE TO USE A GREAT LOTION AFTER - I use PURE Emu oil (THE BEST)** Pros: * A little goes a LONG way! I seriously think this jar will last me a year and I use it twice/week. * Best way to remove a spray tan thats turning against you * Best exfoliator I've found and I think I've tried them all * The price for the longevity and quality - can't beat it. Cons: * The texture is a bit gooey, well, a lot gooey. I've found using small (fingernail size) sections is easier to manage and warm up between your fingers prior to application. * I genuinely LOVE Argan scents but this product, just doesn't smell too pretty. It doesn't smell horrible but it doesn't have that Argan scent.

Effective but strips skin of all moisture
This is extremely effective at removing ingrown hairs, especially bikini and brow line. Like you can feel the bump getting smaller. But it scrubs the skin entirely of moisture. I doused myself in oil afterwards but it is not the same as your skins natural oils. I would not use this regularly, more as needed. The skin “peeling” pics I think are just dried product rolling off. I don’t think it is dead skin cells. But I could be wrong.

Strange but awesome.....
The soap is a gross consistency and color. It reminds me of the tar that sometime ends up on your feet in the ocean! It doesn't smell pleasant, nor does it smell bad.....but you are not using this for the way IT looks- it's about how it makes YOU look! Since I received this I have only used it twice. It's amazing, in three days my skin looks better. I am using the argan oil as well. The soap is leaving my face feeling ultra clean, and moist. I have normal to dry, sun exposed skin. I'm feeling like I wish I would have discovered this ten years ago. I think if you had to have it smelling fresh like some soaps, you could add an essential oil, like eucalyptus or citrus. I like my perfume or body lotion to have the scent, not my face products. I would definitely recommend this product, in combo with the oil. (Just got the MIT )

This Moroccan Black soap is the best. It is so good at exfoliating that you have to be careful if you are using the recommended exfoliating mitten. You could take some skin off. I had a small wound on my arm that was healing with a scab. I had no idea that this product would melt the scab. It did, It's not a negative for me because the wound healed without a scar in just a few days. I also have a small area on my arm that diagnosed as folliculitis that I have been battling for more than 3 years. My doctor prescribed creams, gels, foams, clindamycin...nothing worked. I have even had a biopsy...diagnosis, folliculitis... but after using Zakias, the area has healed, and I mean in as short as 5 days. I must also say that in general, my skin loves this product, blackheads...gone and I no longer need to use a lotion. My skin glows on its own and is really, really soft and smooth. I'm just too happy.

Great soap, with some caveats.
I bought this soap two months ago, and OMG, it was love at first try, where have you been all my life!!!? It does have a funny smell, because it is a natural product, it's saponified olive oil, anybody who is expecting it to smell like their bleached out dish soap has unrealistic expectations. That being said, I like the smell, it's very earthy, and it works amazingly at exfoliation in conjunction with the kessa glove. Seriously, it's amazing. If you want to smell like the shampoo aisle, you can scent up after your shower to your hearts delight, the smell doesn't linger, it just works brilliantly. I have keratosis pilaris, as do three of my children, and the combination of glove and soap is brilliant for all of us. The dead skin rolls off just like any youtube video you've seen of other beldi products, it absolutely works. It's gentle enough for the kids, even the baby, although yes, the 5 year old complains about the scent. Get over it kiddo, it makes your skin feel SO soft. I did have a problem though, with my soap liquifying. At first I thought it was due to water possibly getting in the jar, but no, even after scooping out the puddle, it continued to turn to liquid. I contacted the company through their website and through their information email four times, never heard back. In my last communique, I indicated that I was giving them a further 48 hours to at least respond before I left a negative review of their customer service and problem product. For reference, I hate writing negative reviews, I think people should resolve things with the company before complaining to the general public, but four attempts to contact over several weeks and no response?? That was getting ridiculous. Final attempt, I called the phone number. Right away, I was speaking to the co-owner of the company, he addressed my issues, answered all my questions, and told me he'd absolutely replace my item at no charge. He was extremely helpful and nice to deal with. I'm glad I made the call. That being said, there is absolutely a problem with their contact information on their website. The gentleman I spoke to found two of my messages in his spam folder, and could not locate the other two which were sent through gmail. So there is that, and I hope they fix it for future customers because it could totally lose them buyers. However, Zakia's Morocco has redeemed themselves in my eyes, which is great, since I absolutely loved their product from the get-go and look forward to using the replacement item they offered to send me, and others I will purchase in the future. He even asked if I wanted the same or a different scent. Really great customer care there. Bottom line, buy the product, it absolutely works (leave it on like a mask for at least 15 minutes with the water OFF, then rinse and scrub), and if you have a customer care issue, call their phone number. They'll take care of you.

Good soap!
I had to use very little product to get the results I wanted. This was a good thing as the black soap is very pricey compared to what one normally would pay in Morocco or the Middle East.
