Great value. Raised my growth container about 7 degrees. I did slide a few pieces of cardboard between growth box and heater to adjust temperature more accurately.

I really Love this heating mat! I could not believe how quickly my seed germinated with this. I provides just enough warmth that the seeds are "tricked" into thinking that it is warm enough to come out! I had some seeds that began to sprout in "ONE" day!! That is amazing! Most of my seeds sprouted in 2-3 days but that is still far better than watching over seed trays for Weeks waiting to see Some sign of growth! I would Highly recommend this item as well as a grow-light for those of you planning on a garden before it is warm enough to plant. I also purchased seed pods, and I am being kept busy this year! If there was any negative about this product, it is that there is no off switch or timer, so I Highly recommend one of those. I didn't want my seeds to be heated all day and night, although you might want to. I spilled a bit of water on mine more than once, so I can also say that the mat is waterproof. I wouldn't place it underwater or anything, (who does things like that Anyway?) but it is nice to know that you can overfill a pot or two and when the water hits the heat mat, you won't have to go out and buy another. I would also recommend two of these, especially if you are planting a lot! I sure hope this helps someone!

This mat works a lot better if you set it on a towel or something. I first tried it on top of my granite counters and that did just about nothing. The cold granite just sucks up all the heat and this mat has no chance. Simply putting a hand towel underneath it (even on granite) helped to increase the soil temperatures about 10 degrees from the low 60s into the 70s. If you do things right and the ambient temperatures aren't too low, you shouldn't have too much problem getting your soil temperatures into the 80s. I've had no problem germinating warm weather seeds like peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, and eggplant even though my house is frequently in the low 60s during the day and upper 50s during the night. The cost to run this mat is very little as well. You can keep it plugged in all day and all night and it will only cost you a couple dollars at most over a month's time. I use this mat with my germination station (enclosed container about 10"x20") and it completely covers the bottom. Compared to similar products I've seen, this is one of the best prices I've found (I purchased for $19).

Good value for the money. I did notice that the heat is uneven...some places were warm while others were room temp...and a few were very warm but not enough to cause issues.

I used the product for growing my plants for garden in spring.My plants never looked this healthy last yr. Works great.
