Not as durable as concrete or metal, but they help.
I use these to provide some protection against breakage, and they do exactly that.

The ring may be larger than you want in your grass. The diameter could be an inch smaller.
The ring is a little large for the grass area. it could be an inch or more smaller in diameter so it isn't so obvious. However, on the plus side: it is easy to install and if you have sprinkler heads near a wall you can cut the plastic for a clean straight edge with a chop saw.

Great product that won't break the bank
These sprinkler protectors fit perfectly around my sprinklers and lay flat. They're much less expensive than the cement versions and get the job done offering protection from the lawn mower wheels.

Too light and thin
These are made of very thin plastic and there is nothing to anchor them to the soil. A mulching mower can easily suck them up and cut them to shreds. I threw them in the trash and bought concrete sprinkler guards from a big box store. They work better and cost much less. Don't waste your money on these.

Easy and durable.
If you have a problem with grass growing over your sprinklers, these definitely work to prevent that. All I had to do was pull up the grass right around the sprinkler heads and press these into the ground. They've held up to foot traffic, weed eaters, and the harsh sun in my back yard. They're cheap and do what I was wanting, so no complaints.

Good for some applications
This product worked if the sprinkler head was close to the surface. But I had heads position deep in the ground and they came up spraying water, which dislodged the plastic guard.
