200-300 calories for $14 seems like a lot of money, considering an adult needs minimum 1,200 Cal/day and twice that for active hiking, no?

They are super small portions, to small IMO. They are handy but I thought they were to expensive at$8. I would never pay $14 for them. I have talked the company and customer service people are absolutely terrible. I’d suggest you pass on these. My wife and I keep one each in our day hiking pack as a light lunch with snacks. You’d need a couple each for two. At that point if overnighting I’d just go to my stove and other food options:-) The Omeals do taste pretty good and like I said are handy in a pinch.
