I was hoping for more mindfulness skills. It’s one woman’s journey, heartfelt, although not what I was hoping for.

This is a great book. it tells the story of Elanan Rosenbaum. Elana is a mindfulnesstrainer and is confronted with the fact that she has cancer. The book describes how she deals with this in a mindfulenss way. It shows her fears, her desires. It shows that she, as all of us are, is a student. And that although we can say that we are psychologist, or millionaire or succesful at the end we are all equal, we are all students. Elana was also very fortunate, she had many supporting friends and a loving husband. It would have been nice if she had spend some pages on gratitude. Not all of us are so lucky. Many people die on cancer alone.

Here for Now: Living with Cancer Through Mindfulness-2nd edition
Facing cancer is scarey, but Ms. Rosenbaum's honest and meditative approach is wonderful. I had the good fortune to take the stress reduction/mindfulness course less than a year ago. It is uncanny that I had this course, and someone told me about this book. Since I am out of work healing from a cancer surgery, I have been able to set aside time each day to read the book. I recommend it highly to anyone facing cancer!

Inspiring
I read this book as a caregiver. My husband, the cancer patient, did not. It was very helpful to me because it is really stressful to live with a cancer patient. Mindfulness reduces the stress.
