Dorman77101 Tailgate Lock Compatible with Select Chevrolet / GMC / Oldsmobile Models

Easy to install and works fine but doesnt spring back to center perfectly straight and there is play in the mechanism and maybe the spring isnt strong enough but at least it works but I would have bought the more expensive brand if I had known. Hopefully it will last

PERFECT FIT 1988 S10- BLAZER

Replacement for the OEM lock that broke.

The lock part of the latch was shot when I bought this car many years ago, but finally a little special spring clip failed so that I couldn't open the tailgate. Getting the gate open was a real challenge, but eventually accomplished. With this new part, for the first time I actually have a keyed lock for the hatch. It took a second shipment because the packaging was damaged on the first order, so it arrived with no keys. The keys had apparently slipped out of a loose seem of the plastic blister pack. A call to the service line resulted in a good replacement.

Used it to replace the broken lock for my 1989 Chevy S-10 Blazer and it's perfect! So nice to have my tailgate lock functioning so I can open and close both the tailgate and the 'windowgate' above it!!

I'm giving it 3 stars because over all the latch mechanism locks I just needed to frankanstine my old part with the new part because the arm had bent and snapped off i added an extra tab to make it a little tighter and now opens and closes perfectly after a few minor adjustments be careful make sure everything lines up before attempting to fully use it and do put the liner back on until you test it a few times

fit perfect and now can get into the rear door. Need to see if it lasts longer than the other brand had purchased
