I am in real need of guidance. My USB pet rock arrived without any instructions for care. I have never had an exotic pet, so I am freaking out a little bit. The pet carrier stated not to remove him before reading the instructions, but there were none, so I built up my courage and stuck my hand in there recklessly. I know I could have been badly hurt, but luckily he's very docile and seemed to like being picked up. However, I don't know how to socialize him. I mean, he ignores everyone, and never does any tricks when people are around. People think he's dead because he never rolls over or speaks on command. I hope he comes around soon.On the plus side when he's plugged into my Mac he seems to really thrive. He can sit still for HOURS. I bet he'd be a champion at freeze-tag. He's also amazing at the quiet game, and always wins staring contests. I'm a little jealous that he's so talented and he never lets me win! Regardless, I'm very proud of his prowess. He's so loyal, and a great listener. Just a word of warning: NEVER swing him around by the tail. He absolutely hates it, and he WILL hit you in the eye. I learned that the hard way. Twice.

The truth I am from the generation of pet rocks...I know they do nothing, however when I heard it had a usb connector I assumed it showed up on the screen and did nothing. I am not returning it because it is a gift for a little boy...long story and I am imaginative and can make it work but was very disappointed. I get it....a pet rock sits there but I thought the USB connector had it sit there on my screen. Very misleading and truthfully not worth the money.

You think that paying $35 would buy you a quality USB rock. Well - the wires are beginning to separate from it, and if I have to glue them back in place it'll probably detract from the impression that the cable actually DOES something. Still, it's quite the conversation piece, so it does what it was intended to do.

This product is very useless. Its basically just a USB Cable taped to a rock. I don't know why you would put the word "USB" in the title and not say "This product is not an actual functional USB" in the description. I am very dissatisfied with the product. The only time it says its not a functional USB is in the owners manual at the very bottom that you get once its fully delivered. Do not buy this product, its a waste of time and money.

This is a great gift, not only because it makes a great gag gift, it actually is better made than I thought it would be. It is actually a nice rock, and they glued the cable in there so perfectly, that it looks like it was meant to be attached in the first place. It draws no power and does nothing other then looks cool, allows for a funny conversation topic and comes in a hilarious container. The pet rock container has a straw nest in it along with holes in the box to allow for adequate air flow. If you are looking for a fun gift to give a friend, this is definitely a great one!

USB Pet Rock came with the cord already attached(broken) from the rock. Also, we thought this was a working USB so my young son was very disappointed. I would absolutely like to send this back without having to pay shipping costs which would be more that the item itself.Also, the zap pens are already broken. They lasted 2 days. This product is fantastic. I've been searching for years for a way to interface rocks with modern computers (I didn't want my pet rock to forced to live with last century's technology and be teased on the playground by other rocks), and this was the perfect fit. Through my computer, my pet rock can access the internet to read the news, play games, or conduct cyber warfare against international terrorist rocks if it ever decides to. This is a must buy.
