Runs like a dream. Even on my Bachman easy track n gauge.
Great train better than Bachman. Rides nice sounds good too going down the line. Hooks up well the the locomotive backs into the train cars and hooks up on its own unlike the Bachman, where you have to snap together with the couplings on this locomotive the couplings slide and lock as they should. Super happy with it we’ll buy more from this company.

An Amazing Train Set
This is a high quality and affordable train set you can buy. Kato has a good reputation for quality and value and this is no exception. When I first got this, I played with it for hours. The only drawback for me is the mostly Japanese instructions. After a few hours of use, the locomotive started to run poorly. I didn’t know why and I started to believe it was a faulty product. Then I learned from reading Kato’s website that I needed to clean the wheels after each use. I’m sure it was written on the box but it was in Japanese but I don’t know how to read the language.

Great item!
A terrific little set. The cars are very lightweight, and the little engine has some power. So it takes some getting used to.

This was shipped very quickly and was factory sealed but did not run right, I sent for a replacement
This would only run intermittently on my layout, all my other trains ran fine. but I still gave my track a coon cleaning but this train would not run right. It was factory sealed. I asked for a replacement and sent it back. The replacement was not factory sealed, looks like they tested it first, It doe run as it should I am happy with this order and their fast service

COOL tram and two frieght cars, Kato quality
New and improved Kato mechanism, runs very smooth on Kato's smallest radius Unitrack. Crosses turnouts and crossovers without hesitation. Comes with knuckle couplers and non-functional pantograph.

If you are looking to get into N Scale model railways but don't have loads to spend then this little set is great if you can live with the appearance. The loco and wagons are both basic but finely detailed/moulded but wont fall to pieces in your hands like many of the more expensive models; the pantograph is a miniature work of art. I was looking for a low-cost re-entry into the hobby and already have an oval of track and a power controller so the only element missing was some stock to run. I purchased this whilst on offer and also used a voucher which meant I paid £26 for this set but even at the higher price (£49 at time of review) I think it represents good value. The tiny loco runs smoothly straight out of the box and after a brief period of 'running in' it now creeps along the can motor offering fine control and almost silent running. I would definitely recommend this small set for a fun introduction or re-introduction to N Scale or even as a budget addition to an existing collection. Top marks to Kato proving that Pocket Money priced model railways can be good runners!

小型レイアウトに使おうと考えて購入。気になっていた走行感ですが、低速域から安定した走りを見せてくれました。車輌の出来は、残念ながらチープ感は拭えませんが、価格から見て妥協出来るレベルだと思います。
