Awesome watch; accurate, sturdy, nice looking piece of japanese engeneering
My girlfiriend bought this watch to me the last Christmas. It arrived on time (before 25 Dec) and by the time I opened the box and put it on, it was already ticking... I presume the mainspring wound itself on the clock's way (from US to Spain). The watch works flawlessly. It looses consistently 5 seconds a day, so it is very accurate, for the rate at which it ticks is very regular. A trip to the local watchmaker surely can bring this watch to match the timekeeping of a rolex or whatever other high-end watch which costs 100 times more. The watch is really very nice; you can see the wheel pendulum tiking like a mechanical heart through the seethrough back, and the steel case is shiny and goodlooking. The sphere has a nice blue texture that changes somewhat with the light, making it very impressive in direct sunlight. Its weight feels very good, its light enough to let you forget about it, but is heavy enough to give him a noble feeling in the wirst. The inner markings are very well done and it can be easily set so that the minutes hand perfectly aligns whith its correspondent minute mark when the seconds hand passes 12 o'clock. Despite its non hacking movement, there is a trick to make the seconds hand go backwards and even stop, so it is easy to get the seconds hand to stop wherever one may want. The glass is very sturdy; I have banged and rubbed it agaist walls and miscellaneous objects acidentally and didn't manage to scratch it even slightly. My overall impresion is that it is a very good watch that will last for ages and will never need service or battery change (for its is an automatic). Z.

Great watch at a great price
Exactly as pictured. Very east to adjust the band with a few household tools. It ran fast by about 20 sec per day out of the box, but I bought a tool to aid in regulating the watch and have regulated it to within a few seconds per day. So I'm very happy with the performance of this watch, not to mention it looks great. Great everyday watch overall.

Men's watch
Arrived on time. This was a graduation gift, and they loved it. It was large so some links were removed, comfortable to wear.

Very nice watch for the price
I bought this watch because I was interested in getting an automatic watch, had read good things about the Seiko 5 and saw this one at an unbelievable price (1/3 retail). This is probably the nicest watch I own in terms of build quality and attention to detail. The watch face is subtly textured - the metallic blue which changes colour depending on the lighting, making it interesting without being flashy. The sweeping second hand looks classy and the minute and hour hands sweep precisely as well (i.e. if the second hand is at the 30 second mark the minute hand will be exactly halfway between the minute hash marks). The luminous hands and markers are bright and relatively easy to read in the dark. The crown at the 4 o'clock position is a subtle touch that I love - it stops the crown from digging into your hand. Overall, this watch is light and very comfortable on the wrist. This is partly because of the smaller face and because the bracelet has folded instead of solid steel links. That said, it doesn't feel frail or cheap. However, as nice as this watch is, I stopped wearing it after a month because I got tired of having to re-set the time. This watch consistently gains 15 seconds every day. This is typical of Seiko 5s (and other less-expensive automatic watches). UPDATE -- I started wearing this watch again once the battery died on my quartz Swiss Army. After about a month of steady wear, I noticed that the Seiko was keeping MUCH better time - it now seems to be gaining ~5-6 seconds per day - which is comparable to automatics in the $500-$1000 range.

Very sharp looking watch.
Bought this for dad who wanted a decent knock around watch. Looks very nice and the likes the automatic. I like the see though back. The band is easy to change if you know the trick, just look on you tube. 2 minor gripes, the band is has some sharp edges not sharp enough to cut but might be uncomfortable after long wears. Other gripe is the adjustment knob is very small and tough to turn and I have small fingers. Otherwise very nice looking and time will tell how accurate.

Good watch for the price.
The watch is good for the price, looks nice. If you don't use it for a day or so it will stop.

Cool watch for a cheap price
Bought this watch in 2014 for $65 from Amazon. I wear it to work everyday and it still works great as of writing this review. I think the self winding feature is really cool. The spring will run out over the weekend, but I can easily give it a couple shakes to wind it and adjust the time. This isn't for someone who doesn't want to bother with that though.

Better Than Expected
Turned out way better than expected; the pictures don’t do it justice. The dial is beautiful and the build quality is far superior compared to other watches in this price range. Purchased as a gift for a long time Seiko quartz owner and I know they’ll be pleased with this.

Great & simple design- the watch worked promptly. The only downside was that it doesn't have a manual wind function, so you have to gently shake it before at night or for a long absence of arm movement (but you'll have to do this with any other automatic watch, so it's alright). It was very easy to adjust the bracelet without any watch tool.
