OLD WEST Men's Stitched Cushioned Round Toe Cowboy Western Boots

UPDATED after 4 YEARS of WEAR: These boots are awesome. First some specs, I wear 10.5 in street shoes and the 11DM fits me perfectly; I use Sof Sole Men's Arch Full Length Comfort High Arch Shoe Insole (found on Amazon) cut to shape of boot; I wear tube socks because the top of the boot is higher than most socks and will chafe your leg; I wear these with business suits; and, finally, I have worn these every other day (I alternate with a brown boot) for the past 4 years. I had to replace the heel once in that time but never the rubber sole. I love these boots. They look great paired with the suit, I get a lot of compliments and they are super comfortable. They are relatively durable, I am updating this review because after 4 years of almost constant wear, a lot of walking, including on construction sites, a small tear finally opened on the side of the boot and I have come straight back to this listing to replace them. They are the same price as 4 years ago (nice) and given the price and wear, I think they are a great value. They have just the right amount of point to the toe and the scroll pattern is subtle, so I can easily wear them with business suits and most people compliment when they notice them. I specifically wanted a boot with a rubber sole, I know there are tons of other much higher quality leather boots out there expected to last a lifetime but that was not what I am looking for here. I wear these things hard and they have served me well. Also, and this is my fault, for the first few years I did not maintain them as well as I should and I consider any premature wear to be due to that fact. When I switched from wingtips at work to cowboy boots I did not continue the same weekly maintenance regime that I had with my leather dress shoes. The finish on these boots was so good that it was only after a few years of use that it dulled to the point where I went back to regular oiling/waxing, etc. All told, these were my "gateway" boots and I am now a diehard cowboy boot wearer. They are comfortable, hug the foot just enough, provide solid traction with the rubber sole (though not in snow and also not made for that so not a demerit) and overall I am very pleased with them.

These boots seem to be very well made. They are certainly comfortable for me. As they suggested, I bought a pair 1/2 size larger than I usually wear. I have a high arch, so I inserted an arch support and the resulting fit was perfect.

Purchased via Amazon (Old West TBM 3010) as supplied by Cambridge Select. Received 3051 instead. According to Cambridge, the difference is in the shaft height. 3010 has 12 3/4 shaft and the 3051 has 13 1/2 shaft. These boots have the rubber sole, which I wanted, although some alternative suppliers display the 3010 with a leather sole. Prices range from $60 to $95. (Some pay shipping, some do not) Old West fit guide advises you go 1/2 size larger than your normal boot size due to narrow fit. I wear 9.5 to 10 in dress shoes and 10 in boots. I ordered the 10.5 and they fit well. Some slippage at the heel that is normal according to Old West. Once they are broken in they're not supposed to slip. These do have a very narrow fit and I don't think a 10 would be comfortable. So, like most of you I don't usually order shoes on line, but I got lucky this time. This boot has an insole. Not much padding tho so you'll definitely want a larger than normal size should you wish to add cushion. Nice looking, inexpensive boot that hopefully holds up well. Also, get some tall socks as these are tall boots. Cheers.

==UPDATE (1 YEAR)== I just wanted to mention that someone I knew got into a car accident and I had to go out there to check up on them and the car since I was closest. The area where we were was largely dirt...and with all the continuous rain days prior and up to that point we had tons of slippery mud, deep above-ankle puddles, and oil from the car in some parts. I chose to put on these boots because of the terrain. Any other shoe I had would get ruined. These boots held up extremely well and did not leak when submerged in some of those puddles. I was able to navigate the extreme mud without slippage and all in all be fine. And to this day I am still using this boots. This was another reason I was glad to not have a "big brand" attached to my boots and the affordability...I would have had 2nd thoughts using these otherwise. The only other thing to mention is that over the months some of the inner lining has cracked, but nothing major...and the outside hasn't suffered much blemish at all. Because of the aforementioned situation, I will be ordering a 2nd pair soon. First off, the basics...these boots fit perfectly. My normal shoes (rubber shoes, dress shoes, etc.) run at a size 9. Having heard that cowboy boots run on a different sizing system, I wasn't sure what to order. But I went ahead and ordered the 9's (just like my normal shoes). And they were perfect. I didn't even need to add additional insoles like I do for my other pair. When paired with a good pair of boot-cut socks (my personal favorites being being the dickies work socks with copper infusion), these become one of the most comfortable pairs one can have. I've worn them for hours on end and the boots have kept very well and haven't led to any "fatigue". Like any other boots (and footwear in general) they will need to be broken in. Putting them on and taking them off the first time was a little difficult. But the subsequent times they have become really easy to manipulate...while not losing the snug fit I like from them. The distressed color also did come a little darker than pictured...but I preferred it that way since it makes it look less flashy and tacky, and more "normal" and "day to day". I also appreciate that the embellishments on it are not too blatant and gaudy while still being ornate. As you can tell, I like sleek, but nothing that is flamboyant. Finally, I actually appreciate that it is a "no brand" pair of boots. I don't feel like a walking billboard that way. But anyways, good boots, decent construction, more than fair price, excellent fit, and one completely satisfied customer.

Yes, the materials are not the highest quality, but nothing about the boots seems cheap, either. The rubber soles seem to have excellent traction, but I haven't worn them enough to know how durable they are. But again, at this price, there won't be anything to complain about. They say to buy a half size larger, but after reading some reviews, I ordered sz 11 like most of my boots and they fit about perfectly. My feet are a little narrow and because these fit so well, I would say they are more of a C than a D width. These boots look good and fit well and are comfortable to wear. A great buy.

i have like 20 pairs of western boots, and just love them. so why would i buy an inexpensive plain pair like these? these are simply classic. i kept looking at Old West boot ads and had to know if these were as cool looking as in the ads, even tho apparently Old West is a super economy brand. i did not expect the quality, comfort or simply classic great looks they turned out to be. you will not be fooled into thinking they're a $400 pair of top brand Texas boots...but that's a plus. i wear them with Levi slim bootcut jeans and a plain denim shirt and like to look authentic vs. duded up to go to a concert or whatever. i'd rather look like i belong on a ranch or at a truck stop than at a line dance bar in my ostrich boots. and these are as authentic as you'll get. i end up walking a lot on concrete and these are perfectly comfortable, even without coming with a 'removable' inner sole which now seems to be the trend. cowboy boots used to never come with those things, and now it's the latest thing to do...which not only adds to the price but to the size of the boot you need to get. these, like the good ole days, have no removable inner sole but because of the rubber work sole, they don't need it. IF you want to buy one to put it in, you definitely NEED to go up at least 1/2 size to accommodate that. as i said, way comfortable enough even on concrete not to need that. but there's one last good thing about these...they look great enough to take them to a line dancing bar, if you're into that sort of thing. i'm not.

Only been wearing these boots for about 4 days, and they seem to be well worth the price. I wear western boots every day and do a LOT of walking over rough, rocky, southwest desert terrain. However, if you plan on wearing these as every day boots on the ranch, you will sweat from the synthetic inner lining in the HOT seasons. Another aspect of the synthetic inner lining is that they will typically break down (crack) and the top edge will never be "soft" like leather linings. If you tend to have thin skin, that may cause some irritation on your calves (your lower legs, not the cattle). UPDATE: It has been a little less than 2 months and the heel nails are already exposed even though the heel still has plenty of thickness. My 3 year old Ariat boots are worn thin on the heel and NO nail exposure! Those nails will do two things; scratch floors and eventually poke your heel. If this was 6 or 8 months down the road, I would be OK with it. The rest of the boot is still quite comfortable and wearing well. So, being a bit disappointed, my next boots will probably be Ariat at twice the price.

Fit well and comfortable, leather starts to get worn quicker than expected

The boot is really nice but because i bought the wrong size, it really ruined the experience. Hope that I can get refund😭
