ART ATELIER SIE A husband and wife artist team based in Berlin, Germany. Tjwan Hwie Sie A native Indonesian, his love affair with art and design started at a young age; he was fond of any kind of arts, especially dancing and painting. After he graduated from school, he opened a Dance Studio. which sadly was closed due to the political situation in 1965. Relentlessly, in 1968 he went to Berlin and as a Dance Sport coach he made a good name. Since then, he's known as "Mr. Sie" When he's not busy teaching and coaching, Mr. Sie spends his time painting. His work of art including portraits and nudes, invites us to see his world: the dancers, the people from his native country; often anchored with subtle use of facial expression and character projection to accentuate his aesthetics further. Mr. Sie loves to work with everything from oil, watercolor, charcoal and pastel. Doris Sie A native from Berlin, Doris has been exhibiting her paintings on countless shows and expos since the 80s; she has built up domestic and international clientele from France, England, Indonesia, USA, and more. Since 1992 watercolor became the language of her paintings. Always asserted herself with a sketchbook, a camera, and her painting tools whenever she travels (near and far) to catch that glimpse of moment in time and inspiration. She would start painting on the spot, then later on at her atelier, she continues the process of transposing the object that she has seen. After reducing the hustle and bustle of the forms, colors and tastefully leaving out the fortuities, what we get is a collection of charming, beautiful landscape and townscape - a theme that she dearly articulates in her paintings.
