A heavy-duty snatch block, worth the investment
When I sold my beloved Catalina 42 Mk II to move to a powerboat I sold my Ronstan snatch block along with the sailboat. I just purchased a Capri 22 to teach my grandson how to sail and I immediately missed my snatch block while deciding how to re-step the mast. If you're a sailor (or even a stink-potter), a snatch block is one of those "must have" items in your toolbox. Of the recreational boater snatch blocks on the market, the Ronstan is the sturdiest one I've found. The sheave is wide enough to handle any width line you are likely to encounter on most recreational boats (up to 5/8" diameter lines) with a maximum working load of 2980 lbs. The frame and load straps are 316 stainless steel with an anodized alloy sheave and an investment cast stainless steel snap shackle. A real workhorse!
