The Picture of Dorian Gray (Chiltern Classics)

This book is stunning. I like large fonts, underlining quotes I like, and writing on the margins of my books while I read. Most books nowadays have tiny fonts, stupidly thin paper and zero margins to make it as cheap as possible to print. Not this. High quality, thick paper, generous margins, it makes it so easy to engage deeply with the text, unlike other publishers (I'm looking at your hardcovers, Penguin!). This book is one of the most pleasant to read hardcovers I own, and I own many books. I'll definitely be purchasing more books from Peter Pauper Press.

First thing you notice is it's weight: it's quite heavy compared to its relatively small size. This is because pages are thick and made of some plastic material. Pages are both see-through as many alternatives. The book feels good to touch and to look at. As for the content - most people know what they buy. Oscar Wilde is a genius of his time: his books are always witty and timeless. This particular story is both interesting and instructive: a pretty person can have an ugly personality, in this case there is a portrait to show it. And as Dorian was hiding his portrait, hypocrites of this world hide their true-selfs.

I love this edition, lovely hard cover

This book requires patience. I personally went in to it without knowing anything and therefore found it very boring in the beginning. But once I got to about 30-40% in I realised I was reading art. I'm glad I stuck till the end.

livro lindo! as flores são em alto relevo e a lateral do miolo é dourada. é um pouco menor do que eu esperava mas achei o tamanho perfeito! as folhas têm uma textura meio impermeável (algumas pessoas podem não gostar, mas eu pessoalmente amei já que sou desastrada e acho que assim vai ser um pouco mais dificil de manchar kkkk). a respeito da obra não tem muito o que falar né, oscar wilde é um gênio.

Llegó en excelentes condiciones y antes de lo programado, muy buen material. Me encantó.

Es una edición para darte un capricho o para quedar genial con un regalo. Muy bonita.

edizione molto elegante e curata. dettagli di copertina in rilievo e lucidi, segnalibro, bordo delle pagine dorato, carta patinata, font chiaro e ben leggibile. Sono molto soddisfatta.
