Vita Clay Replaceable Inner Pot (8-cup)

Have been using the Vita Clay Pot for over 4 years, not less than 3 times per week, and cannot say enough good things about it! Amongst the many things you can cook on it, it makes the tastiest and healthiest rice, and is easy to clean. The only negative side is the replacement of a lid. These lids are fragile, and the only way of getting a replacement is to buy the inner pot together with the lid. After accumulating and storing 3 pots, I feel like stopping using it the next time a lid breaks. I just don't have any more storage space! Hey Manufacturer, want to sell more pots? Start making available just the lids!!

Have been using this rice cooker, for steel cut oats, rice, various bean concoctions, a whole lot of whole grains, Basically a warm porridge breakfast 5 days a week, plus soups, stews for several years.No metallic taste, no chemical nonstick residues, Just don't shock it when its hot.

While the manufacturer also had the clay pot replacement parts, I went with ordering from Amazon for sure. Everything as expected, same as the original. I did notice that lifting the lid with the metal lifter was a bit snug with the new replacement. I guess that's a good thing so to ensure me that the product has not been used. I just didn't notice this as much on my prior one. Just be forewarned, the lid of the pot is very fragile so when removing it and placing it back that you are very careful. Cleaning the bowl itself, I use the rough side of a sponge with a gentle dish detergent or salt added to warm water.

We do love Vita Clay, which I have been using for years now, and bought one for 3 daughters.I searched all over to get the lid which broke and could not replace just the lid.So I had to purchase the whole replacement Inner Pot.The lid is vulnerable. It would be nice to have a resource to buy the lid by itself, if this should happen again.Thanks.

I had have a Vita Clay 2-in-1 Rice N Slow Cooker in Clay Pot, VF7700-8 for almost 2 years, and I loved it! It cook fast, and food taste good. Recently, the pot cracked, and water was leaking. The cooker works fine, hence I decided to replace the inner pot itself. I bought this pot from Amazon. It arrived pretty fast! Love the service. I got them on Friday, and I make my first cook on Sunday, the first thing I notice there is a BLACK spot appeared at the bottom of the pot. I thought to myself it should normal. So, I did not bother much, 2 days later, I make the second cook, there is a BURN smell from the pot, and I took out the pot, and found a deep crack on the side of the pot near the black spot!! What make me more upset, the water leak from it RUIN the cooker itself! I had wrote to the seller regards to the issue, I just had it for 5 days, and the POT already CRACKED! There is NO respond from the seller; finally I found out that these pot is NOT warranted!! HOW terrible! Now, I have a cracked pot with blacken cooker!! UPSET!

Fits exactly like the original pot did in the cooker. Just needed the lid, but it was cheaper to buy the whole thing instead of just the lid by itself.

These clay pots are very sensitive to thermal shock. I've had my vitaclay rice/slow cooker for 6 months and I really like it except for the clay pots which are essential to the cooker. I just broke my second pot tonight when adding stock which had been in the fridge. This is the second time I've had this happen. I had already added some of the ingredients so I started the slow cooker and even though I warmed the stock this time it was either too hot or too cold and it cracked. Since I really like me the meals cooked in the clay pot I thought I might get a tagine instead of buying a new vitaclay pots every few weeks or months because they make the tagine from a special clay that is resistant to thermal shock. Now I'm wondering why Vitaclay doesn't make their pots from fireclay. The vitaclay manual says the clay pot is a consumable. Not sure I'm going to continue consuming them!

i already broke two of these, not that i am clumsy , but this thing is more easy to break than other stuff including my other clay pots. i suspect the craftsmanship is not excellent

My first one cracked after long-time keeping warm of the porridge which dried out. I guess heating anything dry in this clay pot will do no good to it. I bought the second one and paid more attention like avoid abrupt temperature changes, like avoid putting the hot pot under the cold water. Clay pots need just a little bit more care, but considering the healthy facts of them, they worth the bit more care. My second one has been working great.

Very fragile so be careful handling. Already broke the original one after one year mishandling it.

Good product They have painted it not sure it is toxic paint or not as it doesn't seem like a regular clay pot

As others have commented. It made a loud crack sound and broke while cooking. Made lots of chard smoke. Unsure if I can even use the cooker anymore and where I may be able to get a decent quality pot. I don't wan to buy this one again.
