Seem to work well, but a little bit of a pain
These connectors seem great, though I haven't had them through a rainy season yet. They are filled with silicone grease which helps make them water-resistant, so you'll want to wear disposable gloves while you are installing them. I used them with 16/2 landscape zip wire and while they work fine with that gauge wire, getting the wire into the connector was a little challenging, what I finally wound up doing was pressing the wire into the little channel with some needle nose pliers and that worked great. Then on some of them, I'd have to squeeze the flap closed with pliers after I squeezed the little splice fork into place. Overall not too hard to use, but it took me some time to figure out a method which worked, maybe, if you can understand what I've described it will save you some time.

Worked great for wiring my landscaping project!
I researched waterproof low voltage wire connectors for days trying to find one that wasn't $3 or more per connector. This connector did not show up in my search on Amazon, which concerns me why they didn't. I actually found them on another website at a higher price, plus shipping. Just as I was getting ready to order them, I decided to try one more time to try to find them on Amazon, this time using the exact item name. I was thrilled when they showed up! There are good videos on youtube showing how to use them. Once you get the hang of it, installing them is easy and quick and sooooo much cheaper than any other waterproof connectors.

Good Quality Wire Taps
Although all taps look the same, these 3M taps are a quality purchase. Assuming you have the right size wire for the tap you are buying, these easily bite through the wire insulation and make good contact with the wire. Also, the tap has a dielectric grease in it to help keep moisture out of the connection.

Better Than Most (I Hope)
I've tried several types of connectors and, due to the gel and the tight seal, these appear to be ones that will survive the elements. They were not easy to attach at first but once you get the hang of it, the process gets easier. I used them on 16 gauge wire and getting the main running wire into the slot is not easy. I found that using pliers to pinch it in works the best. When you go to pinch the main "door" shut, make sure you're holding the lamp wire all the way into the slot, and pinch very hard with the pliers. On some connections I had to go back and squeeze really hard to fully bite through the insulation. Of the five I used, one does seem to be temperamental, losing the connection sometimes when the main wire wire is disturbed. However, I had to replace one connector in that location and it may be that the removal damaged the wire. If so, I'll put another one on in another part of the main wire and think that will fix the issue.

Good for outdoor landscaping lights
This is a very strong wire join and tap. I use it for the outdoor landscaping LED Lights. It was a little hard to press the bigger 14WGA wire but you can force it in the slot by the flat screwdriver. This is the 3M product so the quality is very good with a strong housing and the soft silicone moisture sealant inside. It is low cost ($0.40 each, or $0.80 a pair) and a good alternate part to the other wire join device which costs more than $2 for a pair. Highly recommended for the DIYer.

I'll never splice outdoor lighting cable again
I used these connectors to install low voltage lighting in my front yard.Peace of mind knowing that a positive connection has been made and not using wire nuts and the uncertainty of keeping a weatherproof connection. I read reviews that 14G wire is too thick. The trick is to use a bit of the lube in the connector to "prime" the wire. It will clip in nice and secure. You just need to push it in. I used needle nose pliers to help distribute the force along the wire where it mates to the connector. Do a few of them and you'll get fast.

3M Scotchlock thumbs up
I was having issues with my outdoor pathway lights going out or flicker when it got real wet. The Kichler connectors were water proof but has the silicon grease but they still did not work as expected. I found these on a YouTube video and decided to try them out. I was impressed with the ease of use and the superior connection. These just work and would recommend if you having issues with your low voltage outdoor lighting. Great product.

If you have constant issues with the connection on your outdoor low voltage lights these are the ones to buy. There is a great video on you tube (outdoor lighting supply blue connectors) to see how to properly connect your low voltage wiring. They snap together and the gel material ensures moisture does not enter. Very easy to use.
