I found this to work very well for cleaning my dishwasher. This is only for the machine not your dishes. I noticed my machine leaving food particles on my dishes before using this. After using it my dishes are clean and the machine looks almost new.

It does clean the dishwashers and gets rid of the bad smell but then ur left with this chemical smell for a month or two. It permeates the dishes (I have plastic dishes)
