I love this Butterfly Garden kit. It makes a great science project fair project! My daughter thinks it’s so cool and she’s learning the entire time! All the parts came with the kit and even came with a journal so she can write everything down. We look forward to seeing the different sizes of the butterflies!

This butterfly kit was such a fun experience! The perfect birthday gift for my 3 year old granddaughter! The kids loved checking on the caterpillars every day and watching them grow and eventually turn into butterflies. It made the whole butterfly life cycle so much more exciting than just learning about it from a book. The habitat is easy to use, and I liked that the kit included everything they needed to watch the process from caterpillar to butterfly. Releasing the butterflies at the end was definitely the best part!

So far 9/10 caterpillars have made it but we’re not at the butterfly stage yet - leaving a review now because 1) I’m obsessed with this / love watching my caterpillars and 2) want to know how more people aren’t commenting on how much poop these things produce. It’s INSANE. I watched 4 caterpillars poop today in the span of 5 minutes.

Update: Since my last review they mailed new caterpillars that I received and they are all alive. They were great to work with and had good customer service! When received all 5 in one container were dead in a ball and only 3 survived in the other container. The 3 living were already attached to the top and forming their cocoon so didn’t get to watch them move around.

We love raising caterpillars into butterflies🩷 it is such a fun way to learn about a butterfly life cycle and seeing their beauty up close. My daughter has autism and really enjoys animals/nature and science so this is a perfect activity for her! Great quality and just so much fun to experience!! We have done this years ago and really enjoyed the addition of the flower feeder and dropper which we did not have the first time. There were even provided sugar packets to make the nectar for them. Unfortunately, one of our caterpillar cups had a lot of issues. One caterpillar never grew, it was significantly smaller than the others then eventually died. Of the other 4 caterpillars, 2 of them formed their chrysalis on the bottom of the cup in the food. I’m not sure if they started hanging then were knocked down (it happened over night). We scooped them out and placed them on a paper towel at the bottom of the provided enclosure but they never emerged. We got 7 out of 10 butterflies (2 out of 5 from cup 1 and 5 out of 5 from cup 2) Despite the losses I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking to raise butterflies!

My kids loved this!!! Only one caterpillar died and the rest completed the full cycle and became butterflies! Super easy to do.

My favorite spring activity! I’ve been buying this for years now and doing it with the kids. Always brings a learning experience while the caterpillars are becoming cocoons. Then the letting go of the butterflies is such a cool experience. I’ve only ever had two not make it!!! Highly recommend this to teachers and homeschool parents. The enclosure is made super nice and is very durable. Could be reused for other things. Come with everything you need. I always buy my caterpillars live and have never had any problems with hatching or delivery.

Plenty of caterpillars all alive and munching! All of them except one made it to the end of the process and turned into butterflies we got to release outside 😊
