How thick is your glass while using this pump? My glass is thicker at 5/8"?

I have a 90 gallon corner, hard saying thickness half inch for sure. Magnets will not hold with the rubber divider piece. I have a magnet scrapper rated for 5/8 and that works great. I would say it would be maxing out the strength. Or I just got some weak magnets in my set up

Can I use it with a 55 gallon tank ?

Sure! You might not want to run it full strength, but it will work fine on a 55g
