Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star (Iza Trapani's Extended Nursery Rhymes)

We have nearly all of Iza Trapani's books, but this is by far our favorite! Iza Trapani took the familiar verse of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, and added an adventure. The story is vivid. The illustrations are beautiful. We used to read the book every night. Now we sing it EVERY night to our little ones. It calms them. We get to connect with them through it. The story/song takes them on an adventure in the mind's eye as they move towards sleep. It's one we know they will refer back to with fond memories as they grow up.

Perfect little board book! Got it as a gift for my friend's baby shower that I'm hosting. She's waiting to find out the gender, so our shower theme is twinkle twinkle little star, how we wonder what you are. This little book will be on display at the shower, and I wrote a little message inside of it for the new baby. Also, my baby watched as I opened the package when it arrived. He loved, so I gave it to him & reordered a second one the same day.

My son thinks it's a story of his sister, he loves it. It works well. Using it as a bereaved aid.

I have purchased this book many times as baby gifts and for elementary school age children. I had used it for years in the classroom as well. Iza Trapani has retold this classic in a way both children and adults love! Her illustrations bring this story to life and amazes children! A must have! Everyone loves this book! It is also well made in this hardcover edition.

We had to replace this book because my daughter loves it so much she accidentally tore the page while looking at it, she is 2. It is one of her favorite stories to read. This author is great. We have bought several other books by this author but this was our first by her.

Wish I'd read the 1-3 start reviews before purchasing, they all mention gold lettering on dark illustrations that make it nearly impossible to read. When I saw the first page like that, I thought maybe I could overlook it, but it ruins the fun of storytime. I returned it.

I bought this story for my toddler because it was one of my favorite bedtime books as a child. It stands the test of time, because she loves it, too! She is about to turn 2, and she will hum the tune along with me as I read and enjoys finding the star on each page of the book. Beautiful illustrations, a sweet story, and an ideal book before bed.

As a music therapist, I really appreciate books written in poetic meter, because you can sing them as a song. This book is great, because not only is it written in meter, it is a familiar tune everyone knows too! It gives the original Twinkle Twinkle a twist and alters it into a kind of visual story that takes you on an adventure in the night. Beautiful illustrations and a sweet little book all around. Now you have no excuse not to sing lullabies to your children before bedtime, parents! ;)

Second hand, but in good condition, apart from one page with a little scribble on it, my granddaughter will love this!!!, you have to give it to Amazon, they are excellent, I signed up to the prime delivery deal, the book cost £2.99, and I got it the next day!!! How good is that, worth every penny as I order an awful lot of stuff from Amerzon, and on most of the orders next day delivery, saves me a fortune in post.

A lovely take on the classic nursery rhyme, a great story for the little ones 😊

My daughter is 5 months old and loves it when we read together. She LOVES the song twinkle twinkle little star so thought this would be a winner. She was bored of this book. Words didn’t flow and the pictures weren’t interesting to her. I was bored reading it too. We were both just waiting for it to be over. Maybe she will like it more in a few years when she’s learning to read on her own.

My daughter loves this book. I sing her the pages and it's quite a nice little song, a good extension of classic twinkle twinkle :)
